Hay Malloos...here is the BMW 6-series in Kerala...Its 650i, I saw it on the occation of the guy's mrrg at Calicut...but hes from Thrissur...And one of my best fren who is also having good contact with him told me that it costed him 1.30Cr...Due to heavy croud, I couldn't take much nice snaps...

New S-class is a hot dog...so far 13 S-class in on road in Kerala..

Cochin - 5
Calicut - 2
Thrissur - 2
Allapey - 2
Trivandrum - 1
Malapuram - 1

The first S500 is ready for delivery..hes wieghting to get his favorite regn-number...

Why would a 650i cost 1.3 Crores? He might as well have bought an M6 with that money and kept some change.

The 650i should not cost more than 80 lak, max 85 lak on road India considering car cost, customs, bribes, octroi, middlemen, some add-on options, etc.

I too thought of the same at first...he might have directly imported by paying a exorbitent duty...

Exactly Zak...all were looking at me as if 'whos this fool showing off his mob-camera'...more over I thought seeing me taking the foto the Police guy will move aside to give me more coverage of the car, but he just turned around & covered view again...

Not implying that your friend was the one exagerating. But its possible the owner exaggerated to your friend. Duty direct import or no is 113%, the owner couldn't have paid anymore than anyone else importing a car. Theres no clause to charge more. That would be unfair. Take the cost of the car + 113% plus add another 1.5 lacs for clearing and logistics, another 4 lacs for road tax and registeration and another 2 for insurance. At 70,000$ the 650i couldnt have cost more than 75 lacs. Outer limit 80.

I don't think that he'll enjoy driving it anywhere in Kerala...might have to take to out of state...but he'll really enjoy the attention he gets...I was able to know that hes a gr8 beemer fan & uses the same at abroad too..

He came diretly to Calicut from Thrissur, just at the time of wedding..as its mansoon can't avoid the dirt..
