I grew up in New Alipore and passing Babi Nobis'es house several times every evening was a given thing whether on my cycle or in our Amby/M800! He would deign to drive around in New Alipore some weekend evenings and we would SALIVATE!

Remember, this was 1991/2 and to be following a snarling and spitting (white, IIRC)Lotus Esprit Turbo or a Ferrari (348?) in an Amby in your own 'para' was staggering.

I still remember how he would wait for a relatively clear stretch and let the Ferarri rip in first gear. That's a sound I have never forgot or ever will :-)

I spotted a BMW the other day while going to office at near the Race Course & approach of AJC Bose Road Flyover..I think anyone can see atleast 2-3 BMWs & Mercs while going to office if they are travelling to Sec V/Salt Lake from New Alipore via AJC Bose Road Flyover.

PS: the colour didnt come out well - its red in colour.

@ Bobby - there is a black slk 230/200 as well. i think the owner stays somewhere at Russel St. the family (see post 112) owns couple of Exotics according to my dad.

i came across a silver BMW 325i (new & driven by a young guy) - tyres were fitted in the wrong direction - when i approached & told him about it - he said these are factory fitted tyres and are OK - is that possible that the BMW A.S.S in Kolkata (if any) will do such a mistake?

Is this from Bhutan? I say this because of the plates which show the car has come from Bhutan.

@ BEV12 - yes. there are quite a lot of Bhutan and Bangladesh Registered cars in Kolkata. this is just one of them

I'am not sure if it's Bhutan or Bangladesh...but the registration number on the plate started with BP....CC...

I think the SUV belongs to some consulate...as I remember seeing a CC in between the numbers.
