The accident was caused by wheel alignment shop guy who took Supra for a test drive.

Probably because the scooter rider was thrown on the car and he went over the bonnet and roof and ended up behind, breaking the spoiler.

I saw the video of a fireman dousing the flames and a halo-blue spark flame sparking out of the car. Was it a Plug in hybrid?

Yes or no - leads to me ask a different question. The A-B-C fire extinguisher is not enough to put out a 200-400Kw battery fire. Nor a gush of water enough, if anything water is a no-no for electrical fires. One needs Foam to put out special fires. Hope there is some knowledge imparted both into the owners and fire dept (at least in metros) to handle such e-car fires.

PS - Was the 911 fully made of Carbon fiber or what. At least in Maruti/Tata car fires some scrap will remain as salvage value. Iss ka tho bas ramu se jaado marna padega! (translate - one has to just broom sweep the dust that remains)

I don't think so. According to me, it is a 911 Carrera. See the comparison image below.

Re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

A Rolls Royce Phantom VIII collided with a petrol tanker on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway. The two occupants of the tanker were burnt alive in the fire that ensued. I've been told that the Roller belongs to the Kuber Group but there's no confirmation of the same from any of the media reports . Source

Rolls Royce reportedly hit the petrol tanker at a very high speed.
It's really sad to think about the innocent tanker drivers losing their lives ( That too burned alive ) because of the dangerous need for speed connected to the Rolls.

Let’s not jump to conclusions.

We don’t have any details of the accident and for all we know it could have also been the Tanker’s fault completely.

“Overspeeding” is a word so callously and carelessly used by media to grab attention, especially when a high value or high performance car is involved.

I have seen big tanker lorries, multi-axle trucks and buses, brazenly violating highway rules by going wrong way to save a few glasses of Diesel. So before we know conclusive evidence to what transpired, let’s keep the pitch forks down.

Actually, the linked article says (emphasis mine):

"While exact details of how this mishap took place aren’t available, the Rolls Royce reportedly hit the petrol tanker at a very high speed. The impact was so strong that a fire ensued and the tanker overturned."

Edit: Did a DDG search to find a better reference. MSM is reporting this (eg: https://www.hindustantimes.com/citie...727646124.html)

"Rampreet was driving the tanker on the wrong side of the road because he wanted to make a U-turn when he collided with the Rolls-Royce approaching from the Sohna side. Because of the high speed of both vehicles, the tanker overturned after the collision"

So yes, you are right - the tanker is certainly at fault here.

It was the tanker guy who came the wrong way on the expressway to avoid going further to take a turn. Another fatal case of wrong side driving.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

I read a news article of a Rolls Royce and a tanker collision on the Mumbai Delhi Highway near Nuh with the tanker being driven on the wrong side.
Further the tanker occupants died and the car occupants are injured. A curious case.
Prima facie definitely avoidable incident in my opinion.
