It's not in India.... It was a UK launch. Knowing Yamaha it's not coming to India anytime soon. 😬

Even the MT 07 isnt here... Forget the tracer. Apart from kawasaki, none of the other big japs are into the premium segment the way kawi is so focused on it. Kawasaki is not interested in the commuter segment and for this We have to give it up to them, iffy customer support notwithstanding.

And I think the versys still beats the tracer with its adjustable front suspension.

Versys 650 Owners :

What's your take on heat issue?

I'm pleasantly surprised that the bike does not heat up much. Rode in traffic in this hot summer and no scorching heat from engine on to the legs

What is your views?
Mine does heat a bit. Nothing alarming, but yes, the heat is felt. I would go to the extent of saying that the heat is almost at par with how my 390 heats in B2B scenerio. Nothing one can not live with , Also adding to the effect would be the surprisingly hot Bangalore summer this year.

Nasir : Day before yesterday after the ride, I had to venture deep into the city to visit the RTO and was in B2B traffic for nearly 2 hours (10:00am-12:00pm)

I'm purely referring to the heat emanating from the engine (Not to be confused with heat beating down from top) which was very minimal (there was a very light hint of it) but, not that scorching burning sensation that I felt in initial days of my Bonnie ownership where I had to spread my legs wide to get some relief

In that sense, I'm might happy on this situation

As requested,
sharing some pics of the seat mod on versys.
Idea was to reduce the height a bit, and also reduce the forward slope a bit.
End result is satisfactory and feels better then the stock. pics are self explanatory.

Brilliant! Please do post feedback after a longish ride this weekend and tell us about the seat support, now that it must be firmer and less squishy. That would be extremely helpful.

You don't mind if we visit you sometime to get some hands on help on this, do you?

Sure! Must take a small test ride on the bike to get a feeler before going ahead with the mod. There are some nice aftermarket low seats available for versys from seat concept, kawa gel seat, etc but are a bot expensive and readily available in India. Till then, we could do with some local jugaad.

Has anyone looked into the Dimotiv range of engine guards. Looks really good and comes with a small extension which works as a leg protector as well!
I think it sells in Malaysia because it's manufactured in Taiwan by Dimotiv which is German. Though it sells at 300 us on amazon, I have read it is far cheaper in Malaysia.

Can someone please help verify this information? The price of farkles is just way too much from motech and hepco.

During my bikes delivery also this problem of transport was there but it was mainly due to single order of only 1 bike from the dealer and the truck in which they send dukes cannot carry the carton of Versys. Finally it came till Vijaywada in bigger truck and then till Bhubaneshwar on a smaller one as a single load.
But it is really bad that Kawa is yet to sort out this transportation issue of Versys. Don't know how they transport the bigger Versys.

Re: Kawasaki Versys 650 launched at Rs. 6.6 lakh

Update on the V650 which is owned by my friend. Machine has clocked around 8500kms in the 2.5 months. He went ahead and installed the below toys.

1. Baja LED auxillary lights.

He got these from a friend who was travelling from US. Along with these he has a LED bar which he is planning to install if the current ones are found insufficient.
