Finally some much needed competition to the Street 750.
Thanks, also for your help with my PMs! What I heard from the SE was the Chakan factory is going to be shut in April for upgrades with production beginning again in May. Waiting period is around 2.5 months now. If that's the case, the numbers for April and May will be really low.

Thanks and yeah, I'll try to put the ownership experience up ASAP; still waiting for the bike to be registered though. Not planning to go for long rides till all the paperwork is in place.

Do go for a longish test ride and get an experience. I preferred this over the HD twins after experiencing it on a good 40km test ride, plus the heating issues which are non-existent in the Vulcan.

Congrats on your latest acquisition. The bike looks really nice!!
Is the Vulcan suitable for taller riders?

Thanks Nikhil. The USP of this bike is the ergo fit where you can move the footpeg forward by an inch for 6' and taller, ask for handle bars for extended reach and a different seat. For those who are below 5'5", all three can be adjusted to suit their height as well. However, do note that these is called a "mini" cruiser abroad because of the engine capacity and the smaller size as compared to traditional cruisers.

As compared to the HD street 750, it has pretty much the same dimensions.

Congrats. Love the matty look as opposed to chrome. Have you calculated the average km/lit? I am curious because it is a tourer and this is important to know to plan long tours. Also, do you mind sharing an image of the saree guard side? Basically it is a legal requirement in India. That's why all such foreign models come with these local job saree guards because the original designers don't incorporate that in their designs :-) Just curious to see exactly how ugly it is.

Yes I did and agree. Saree guard laws should be changed and made optional as an OE and mandatory only if the pillion is wearing a saree.

Thanks! and sorry for the delayed response Sudipto, dad had a surgery, was away for the past 10 days.

I prefer matte as well but is very difficult to maintain. I've got a paint protection done, more on that on the ownership thread. I'm getting around 20-21km/L in city traffic and around 23-25km/L on the highway. Have only done about 400 odd kms till date due to dad's condition.

Saree guard images attached....they're coming off soon

Looking at one of dealers FB page, looks like they are launching Orange color Vulcan. It appeared on my F B feed and disappeared suddenly.

The orange one is being called the Vulcan S SE. New paint job. Let's see if there are any other changes although this report says there isn't any.

Re: The Kawasaki Vulcan S - Now launched at 5.44 lakhs

An INR 10k increase over the black one. Might have made more sense to bring the white and the green in first. No other changes to the bike.

Re: The Kawasaki Vulcan S - Now launched at 5.44 lakhs

Wind buffeting has always been a major issue for me. Physically being on the wider (Fatter) side amongst the species, it is always a massive physical effort to keep myself in a good posture at triple digit speeds. I either had to crouch or stay below 100 kmph.

Enter the Puig Touring Windshield purchased from Ultimex Auto. It was fitted at their workshop free of cost.

Initial Impressions:

1. Wind is OFF the chest! Haven't had a long ride after the install but the initial ride was very comfortable

2. Slight buffeting on top of the helmet but I can live with it

3. Fits really well and gives the bike a nice look

4. Available in 4 colors, I went for the clear one

https://puig.tv/en/tuning-motos/wind...ing?bike=20892

Set me back by 13.5k. The only downside, had to cut the number plate holder off to fit the screen.

Couple of pics for reference, before and after.
