Although I won't be able to come, I'd definitely suggest going Malshej rather than other places mentioned above.

It is a must visit in rains atleast for people from Mumbai and Pune who have been to other getaways around the cities.

Drunk rowdies with no traffic sense is a common phenomenon at all monsoon spots...especially on weekends. The trick is to start early, reach the spot before the crazy crowds arrive, enjoy in a fairly large group and sneak out of the place before it gets mad.

Reaching early would surely help. Most drunkards & unruly crowds would arrive around 11am and beyond i think.

I will be in Mumbai from 19th July to 10th August to visit my sister in Hiranandani. I hope to join this drive, whatever the destination is.
The only problem is that I will be reaching Mumbai by flight and hence wont have the most important thing for a drive - car.
Let me see if I can convince a couple of friends in Mumbai to join in with their cars. Will update the list if I succeed. Fingers crossed.
