Plan after meeting up with bangy guys at gundulpet

1. Make a u turn and go back away from bangalore.
2. Take a left (straight) towards ooty.
From here we have the directions given in the previous posts.

@ Binz - Any idea how the valley is after 10.00 PM? You'll have to really experience it first hand. You'll run into elephants and bisons by the herd. With luck you can spot a couple of sloth bears. Then there are the porcupines and the deers which are abundant.

The ideal plan would be like this

1. Reach resort by 4.00 PM
2. Settle down into rooms. Change to shorts head to water falls. Trust me the water will be tolerable only in the afternoon. Its freezing cold in the mornings.
3. 6.00 PM start camp fire. Open up the bootles. Have a nice fire side car talk.
4. 12.00 PM start night safari in jeeps. Tip the drivers a bit and they'll get a lot more enterprising.
5. Get back by 1.00 PM, more talk more fun

Hit the bed. Get up the next day what ever time that is. Have break fast. Get some photo shoots, go for a small trek...

Start from the resort by 1.00 PM. We should be back in our places (cbe, bangy) before 7.

I would suggest we pay the jeep guys and go for a drive in the open top jeeps. That will be more fun with teh drivers being able to spot animals where we dont even see them.

When we were in college, we would drive down to ooty from coimbatore at 2.00 in the night, wait outside the nilgiri tea shop, have a tea at 4.00 in the morning and come back

I am dying to get over with today. Already been awake for 28 hours. Just cant wait to hit the roads tomorrow after a solid night's sleep!

Sriram, night safaris can be arranged pretty easily. With all that jeeps there it isnt that difficult. Of a course the promise of a quarter after the drive also helps

The night safari can be quite an adventure. Sometimes more than what one bargains for - we broke a friends arm when we took off in the middle of the night after realising that we were idling the jeep standing NEXT TO an unseen elephant.

Ooooaah! I'm back home in my bed.
It was nice meeting all you guys! Thanx to all for coming.
I couldn't make it on Sunday, I joined these guys on Monday. The drive was awesome & so was the place.
A very heartful sorry to DRC though. :( We could only see you when we were almost going to split up. So couldn't pay much attention to you. Hope you can understand the excitement before splitting up.

This was one helluva adventure ride for me personally, Imagine going up and down thrice on those nasty hair-pin bends in night .

So was huntingg for a room in ooty. In fact we had packed everything necessary for a jungle night out (included a tent, blankets and towels, musquito repellents, etc...) and ended up in a Holiday Inn. You should have seen the puzzled look on the bell boy's face

zak called to tell the trip was great.and so did jk.sorry,i missed the meet from ooty onwards-anyway i know the loss was mine amd mine alone!!!
guys, the road from ooty to gudalur topped my list of 'the worst roads in india'.in fact the road condition was so bad,one could not say that a road in-fact exists!!you cannot drive 5mts without encountering a major pot-hole.the 50km drive took us 4hours.as if this was not enough,it was raining heavily and heavy fog was there!!am very glad you guys did not take that road
perhaps the best drive(from my view)was from kotagiri to ooty-we drove at a sedate pace, listening to kenny g.the scenery, music, and the car's corner carving abilities, all made that drive a very memorable one!!just plain wish aishwarya rai was accompanying me though!!
