| Re: Hyderabad & Bangalore Mega Twin-City Meet - 25th November, 2017 Quad-State TBHP Mega Meet! Quad State? Well, TBHP-ian bb8778 came to BLR on Friday all the way from Calicut. And joined us for the drive through KA, AP and Telangana today! He's heading back to Calicut tomorrow. Big thanks to him for joining us during this amazing drive! I got back home by 7:10pm after a non stop fast drive back home post lunch. It was a fantastic meet and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! The food at FoodPyramid was excellent. The chicken biryani was a favourite with most of us! The Bangalore gang turned out in full force. We had 10 cars at the beginning. 2 cars, a red vRS and BRRAJ (White Polo GT TDI) turned back after about a 100 kms or so. The remaining 8 cars made it to Blue Moon for breakfast. Mighty Lothar(White Laura vRS), Ethanhunt(Blue Jetta) and Sateesh(Linea T Jet) turned back after breakfast for various reasons. The rest of us, 5 cars and 11 people made it to Food Pyramid for lunch and a rendezvous with the Hyd gang represented by Manas_270 and Highway Hopper and his son. It was really nice catching up with everyone, some of whom I was meeting for the first time. I've interacted with some of them for a long time online but never met them! Today gave us a great opportunity to meet and have a lot of fun! Some pictures taken on my phone.        I'll request the others to post the pictures they have taken. | Re: Hyderabad & Bangalore Mega Twin-City Meet - 25th November, 2017 Participated in a team bhp meet after a long time and its was super fun throughout. I enjoyed the 927Kms of drive and some awesome food at "Food Pyramid". Initially I thought this will be just like any other highway hotel, but it was good. Breakfast at Blue Moon was a disappointment. It looked like they don't want to do business anymore.  It was nice meeting the hyd guys and met few bangalore and KL guys for the first time. And thanks to everyone who participated in this meet. Looking forward for next such meet. Some pics, It was a nice early morning start with some open roads welcoming us.  At a toll, Fastag was a flop show  At Bluemoon, an endless wait for the ordered items. Few of us almost entered their kitchen. Hyderabadi boys, Manas_270 and HighwayHopper: Special thanks to you both for making it for this one although it was just an appetizer drive for you folks, in the end you both ensured that your participation did full justice to the title of this meet - Twin City Meet  .bb8778 - You proved that nothing can come in between a commitment for such drives and you did it all the way from Calicut. Thanks for that man and it was wonderful meeting you. Rest of the Bangalore boys, whether few made it till breakfast point or till almost Hyderabad, it was indeed a pleasure to have driven along. These day tripping is just awesome to drive and what more but the empty and fast Bangalore-Hyderabad road. Mighty_Lothar - I knew you won't say no when I asked you to join the rest of the Skoda cars and you made it even with your back pain. Thank you! Nikhil - All the efforts after the final participants confirmed their names and then the planning was just perfect. Thanks for leading this. You made this look so simple that anyone would have joined even in the last minute. Regarding the drive, well it was just about what everyone would look forward to. Good roads and dominating tribe of vRS stole the show. I am damn sure Sateesh too had his share of fun on his TJET while Braj on his Polo and Ethanhunt on the Jetta had a blast too. Arun on his Linea this time was out of my sight whether it was the front windscreen of the IRVM - I guess that was a blessing in disguise since he ensured to call each one of us to inform about the speed trap where he got caught as early as 0730am!! sleepyhead - Everytime I was watching you in your Grand i10, I was recalling one thought - The ride doesn't matter and its the man behind the wheels and the passion to drive. You were fantastic with your enthusiasm and participation. I have had some very memorable runs on my old 1100 cc steed for a while now that I ended up heading back to my yesteryears and those drives in a puny hatch. Regarding me - Needless to say, it was yet another fantastic drive where I roped in one of my friends from the apartment (Nitin) who easily made it. Earlier he had plans to drive his own car but I said let us do it with him as the co-pax since this was a first time and he assured me that the next time we will be in our own cars. He indeed loved the spirit and the drive to the fullest. Photos? I realised most of the have been posted by Nikhil and Arun that include one or two taken from my phone and shared amongst us too. Beautiful & empty roads, brilliant cars for company and a friendly gang. I echo Parag's words for bb8778 - amazing commitment to drive from Calicut. Braj & Zeebo - wow guys - almost impossible to keep up with you on the highway despite my best efforts to awaken my younger self.  Also shoutout to Nikhil for his enthusiasm & commitment to make sure the meet happened. I know organizing events takes some doing - so hats off to you I hope to be part of more such meet-ups in the future ! PS: Totally agree with Nikhil & Parag - cars dont matter - the drivers do. |
