guys as discussed earlier,
how about a roundabout trip to munnar via kulamavu- plenty of hairpins, smooth roads and great photo ops.
if anyone knows more details of the route, please update on this thread and in the link given below

a new thread will be started for the monsoon drive after the details are worked out

Hairpins for free

This is the link to the road between Cumbummettu (kerala) and Cumbum (Tamilnadu).
Do i break the rule if i post the link like this below?

Wikimapia - Let's describe the whole world!

How about a trip like ekm- thodupuzha -kulamavu- kattapana-puliyanmala- cumbummettu- down the hill to cumbum and back on the same roads?

or Ekm- thodupuzha - kulamavu- cheruthoni- kallarkutty- munnar-adimali- kothamangalam-ekm

Or shorter ones like ekm- thodupuzha- cheruthoni- kalvari mount(a small trek to 2500 ft) - cheruthoni- neriamangalam- kothamangalam- ekm

Or long haul ekm- kothamangalam- munnar- marayoor- udumalpettu (TN) and back on the same road?

ekm -pala- vagamon-pala-ekm?

ekm -thodupuzha- kanjjar- ellaveezha poonchira (trek+ 2500 ft)- kanjjar-kulamavu-thodupuzha- ekm

PS: Some Spelling may be wrong.

at the moment its all a bit vague. depends on when people are free. june 1st is the tentative date. open to suggestions

@Kochicar-great list
its upto everyone else interested to chip in with their suggestions and choices.

I'm open to any route as long as thodupuzha-kulamavu is on it- I LOVE that road

i think the monsoon DRIVE is gathering critical mass and is ready for a thread of its own. anyone wants to do the honours?

highlight of the meet for me was injuring my neck while sitting in kutlee's car while he floored it. the acceleration is mindboggling. without even driving it, i could see and feel the torque steer on this car.

its my first time in a turboed petrol car, and my only frame of reference are the diesels I've been driving. this car felt like it would thrash the verna CRDI in a straight line.

What he had in this car(I think)
Greddy turbo, intercooler, turbo timer, tacho and shift light.
ractive air intake
emanage
automech exhaust

getting the details out of this guy is difficult. if it was me who had installed all this stuff in one of my cars, I'd be making more noise than the OHC's blowoff valve and the exhaust put together.
dont be shy kutlee! start a thread!

in true tuner tradition, his car is almost completely stock looking from the outside.

@kutlee- your car is brilliant, but....I'm staying with diesel buddy!
BTW, did you see me pass you at aluva? I swear I was'nt racing!

@ASHVIN- thanks for co ordinating.

@ people who missed it.....
Thanks. That why i went for an ayurveda massage after the long drive. My neck is still paining. Now in TVM. I think i saw you at Aluva. I wasn't driving at all. I was just showing my bro the lowest speed possible on the highest gear at night. I will change all my driving times to after 9 pm. All i need is one gear.
I too don't race. My wish is just to overtake!!!
Big thanks to Ashvin (great imitation skills he has got) for sending messages to everyone. Will miss Cochin meets.

@kutlee : dont mention it ..

@steeroid : well i would not want to compel you to come down for the D R I V E as such .. but the least you could do is just meet up for dinner/drinks at Casino or somewhere around thats convenient and what say we take it from there?!
