Guys, after a cross-check on expenses and money received from attendees we realized that we have a surplus of about Rs 50 from each contributing member.

Pls collect that amount from me or mjothi whenever you are comfortable. You can also PM your bank account details to me so that I can transfer the amount.

how did this come up today?
Was it not calculated yesterday?

Sorry to bring this up here, but I guess henceforth we have to be more careful when it comes to bills as it always ends up with a bitter aftertaste.

+100 to this. Time to get back to slate and bulpam and hang it on the table

Moreover should we announce in the end how much each person gave? Like they do in abroad super markets???

Well Iceman better less than more. I think its a first where money is being returned. Not heard of that before.

No fool proof way. Also how can you shout 'Zero'?

Ideal world - go to a self serve place and each man pays for his food and beverages.

We are not in an Ideal world.

That would be possible only if ever attendee is a member of the club, then everybody is billed seperately.

I suggest they keep the surplus amount as an advance for the next meet. What say

You see - money can be returned only when
a) the bill came to less than what was collected
b) extra money was collected, much more than the bill amount

Correct answer wins Rs. 50. Do you think we need a poll to guess the correct answer? Actually how many people think we need a poll? Let's start a poll for that as well!

Not directed personally at you IronWolf, just replying to your point.

We can use it for arranging flowers, flower throwers, crackers, illumination, elephants, horses, band wagon, garland, bouquet, stage performers, photograpers, videographers, transport, accomodation, food, entertainment etc for the next welcome party.

I was not very happy with the arrangements this time. I understand that the organisers were busy with OTHER activities using barrels - that too in the dark. To add salt to the wound, they collected extra money from us.

Best part about the meet was that everyone introduced themselves to each other unlike the previous Yelagiri meet wherein I had to guess the member's handle.
