Hehe yeah ...But at least they have made a good platform and set the statue well. I feared it being lost in memories when they decided to take it out from road center. Remarkable how the great man keeps on adding his share for the greater good...even as a statue...

IIRC, the lane behind the statue (after the move) was supposed to be used for taking a left turn arriving from Dahanukar colony and proceeding to the 80 feet road.
The last time I saw this lane, it was fully blocked by some handcarts. Is this still the case and does anyone know why?

I guess you are spending too much time in Paris . That is resulting in such expectations and suppositions. In our very own Pune, vehicle movement & transport is the last purpose for which roads are.
