Well, that is exactly where I had been, for one particular wheel it just was not balancing, when it crossed 200gms, the chap said, I would suggest you leave this wheel as the spare, we dont encourage people to drive around with more than 200gms.

When it didnt work even after multiple attempts, I too thought that was best and rotated with 4 wheels.

Thanks for clarifying!

NFS, any update on your Scorpio's problem? Is everything working fine now?

Cheers,
Vikram

yup
this happens sometimes - wheels tend to take a lot of abuse especially on our roads. this definitely affects their balance and indeed wheels get bent out of shape pretty often too.
for the moment I think its wise to put that troublesome wheel rim in as a spare and rotate with the other 4 wheels every 5K Kms. Every 10K however, what you can do is to have all the 5 tyres removed from the rims and turned around on their axis so as to ensure even wear and tear. When you do this, you can bring that spare tyre into play as well .

Nope, the light is not on now. Infact it was on only for that 10-15 sec duration and never came up again. Guess it was a false alarm. BTW, do post the procedure as that would be really helpful for us.

Given the Scorpio for its servicing yesterday, the to do list (updates from the Service advisor in bold):

1. ABS Not working - As confirmed by the service advisor the cable is broken in 2 places, needs replacement (Cost 3800 Rs.)
2. Reverse sensors not working
3. Steering very soft, getting a lot of feedback from the road - Steering play to be checked
4. No sound output from the Music System - Wiring to be checked else to be checked by Nippon
5. The USB port of the Music system not working (this complaint is 2 years old) - Nippon to check
6. Front right wheel squeaking (this complaint is 2 years old) - Brakes to be cleaned
7. Fuel gauge showing full on 40 lts.
8. Hand Brake on warning light not switching off - Related to ABS not working (???)
9. Fuel average down - Air filter completely damaged (in pieces, need to see for myself) ECU to be reset (this was helpful last time round).
10. AC cooling not effective - Filter will be cleaned
11. Gears are very Hard
12. Clutch very soft - Play in the clutch to be adjusted
13. All doors nuts to be tightened.

Is your vehicle still under standard/extended warranty? If yes, will the above point be covered under that?

Cheers,
Vikram

Found today that the AC Blower is not working in 1 and 2 speeds and works only in 3 and 4. Has anyone faced this problem?

The "speed control regulator" is toast. Its a cheap fix if your vehicle is under warranty get it replaced for free, or get get the unit changed or repaired from outside.

The Scorp is 1 year 5 months old so the regular warranty is over, but have the extended warranty, dont know if that will cover this.
Its almost 20k Km old so am going to have to give it for the 1st paid service that when i will know i guess.

Don't you have 2 years warranty on the scorpio? 1 year warranty in this day and age is shocking!

It is 2 years warranty. Sansscorpio - which ASC do you go to?

Scorpio standard warranty = 2 Year 50K kms. Extended options are 3 Year 75K Kms and 4 year 100K kms.

Thanks had forgotten about the 2 year warranty, Its been serviced so far at Sireesh, but plan to change to SKS now. Are they good?

worth taking the extended warranty. I did and I dont regret it at all. Gives immense peace of mind.
ref your query I am much happier with SKS than Sireesh. I ve faced issues there at Sireesh in the past (3-4 years back) and didn't find them very nice nor co-operative nor knowledgeable enough for my (somewhat obsessive) requirements. I used them only because Vijai Auto shut down and that was around the time of my 10K service so I chose Sireesh as they are closer to my home.
Have found SKS to be consistently good ever since they began - probably because they are the erstwhile Vijai Auto with whom I have had a good relationship for several years and when SKS bought Vijai Auto they did so lock stock and barrel. So the people now at SKS are the same people who looked after my vehicles when it was Vijai Auto. Go and meet the Service Manager there Mr Maqbool. A nice man and very helpful indeed.
