Are you sure this is the same product as suggested by kumar_gautam? because he has referred to Scotch Brite which i think is a 3m product. This link is for Scotch Gard

Sorry , you are right , my bad.. its not the correct product. Sorry again.

I dont use Scotch brite but there are a couple of foam cleaners from Formula 1 and Abro as well which i have used in the past and have done a decent job.

My bad, apologies! It is Scotch Gard not Scotch Brite. The product is the correct one.

Okay :) so amidst the confusion we have 3 products. Scotch Gard, Formula 1 cleaner and armor all. Which one would be my best bet? The stains are mostly mud and slush stains

Cannot really help in selecting which one is the best , in my case both F1 and Abro did the trick equally well , i normally rinse out the mats , dry them out , brush them before cleaning it with the foam so 80% of the dust and dirt is already removed.

Washed my Punto with the new ONR Wash and wax. Pretty impressed with the results! No doubt, this one is better than the earlier 'wash and shine'. Also topped up with Optimum Car Wax. Ridiculously easy to apply and decent shine too. Claimed life is 5 months, but even if it comes for 1-2 months, I consider it VFM. Pics here:

During the final stages of detailing a car, I've observed the technicians use something they call "Glaze" which adds a lot of extra shine and hides away the swirl marks.
I've seen them do this as the final step of detailing. The swirl marks completely disappear once this is used on top of the wax.

Now, I am no expert in detailing. So I am quite confused about this "Glaze" product. Is it a cutting compound? I was browsing the AutoFresh.in website, and I found this product.
Do you guys have any idea about what this "Glaze" product is? And, where to get it from? Can it be applied by hand, or does one need a DA/polisher to apply it?

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

A glaze is a product that fills in the swirls and that action leads to the enhanced appearance of the overall paint! Most glazes have gloss enhancers (dunno how much difference they make though)

Usually if you get a quick one or 2 step polish done, the glaze is often used as a last step before wax/sealant in order to give the paint a more even surface by hiding leftover swirls etc.

But usually glazes interfere with the bonding of waxes/sealants to the paint leading to reduced durability of the wax/sealant. Glazes as such have no protective properties and therefore get washed off probably after 2nd or 3rd wash.

Usually, if paint(clearcoat) is thick enough(safe to polish) the swirls should be polished out completely and then the paint should be wiped down clean and then sealed for maximum effect.

In case the paint is thin an its not safe to polish out the swirls, a glaze may be used regularly to maintain high surface gloss.

There are many glazes that boast to have adhesion promoters for sealants and waxes thereby increasing the durability of sealants/waxes over them.

If you plan to use a glaze, you'll have to use it like once a week to maintain the paint and use a good sealant and a spray wax or quick detailer to touch up spots in between maintenance details :thumbs up

Well, my car is nearly 9 years old, and has a fair amount of swirl marks all over. I had got it detailed back in March, and all the swirl marks had disappeared. Thanks to Car Cares :). A month ago, had another round of wax put on it as the car had been through heavy rains and slush for many weeks. While the shine is still there, the swirl marks are becoming quite prominent. Especially when viewed under fluorescent lights.

Anyways, I was wondering if I could apply some Glaze myself. Do I need a DA/polisher? And, is this product the right thing? I've already got the Ultimate Polish & Quick Detailer from Meguiars at home.

Two weeks back from VIP Car care, they applied C-Quartz ceramic coating on my car.

Due to my busy schedule, I haven't washed my car.

Today I Washed and checked the water beading effect. Its amazing.

I will write the review in detail in a day or two.

I need it to clean the carpet. And it would be a tedious job to take that out as its screwed at certain places. Floor mats no doubt would be easier to clean as you can simply rinse them. I think I will just pick one of them and try. thanks

Of course it would be and i was not suggesting you do that , my point was only that perhaps after you do some initial cleaning with say a tooth brush / carpet brush etc then all the cleaners in question might be equally effective and like you wrote , best to pick one and try it.

How about home dry cleaning services?

Yes sir I get your point. I will use a mild detergent with a brush and then go with the carpet cleaner. Hopefully that should help to a considerable extent
