Lancer sfx, slx and glx -- Body differences (If any?)

I have a basic question on the body of the Mitsubishi Lancer.
Is there are difference in the size of the body (Length, Breadth or Width) between the different variants of the Mitsubishi Lancer. (Normal and Sports)

I am not looking at interiors or any other difference.
My focus is only on the body and wheel base.

Lets get technical on this one

No there isn't any major difference.
The SLXi just comes with Alloy wheels and the SFXi has skirtings all around which reduce the ground clearance.
The SFXi also comes with 14inch alloy wheels.

just what lambo said
Since i bought my lancer just a few months ago, the only difference between the 3 were:
GLXi - Basic
SLXi - 13" Alloys / Rear Spoiler
SFXi - Front, Rear, Side Skirts / Rear Spoiler / 14" Alloys

Gamer,
the SLX doesn't come with a spoiler.
Only the SFXi.
And even the GLXi comes with 13" wheels but not alloys.

Just to add that sfxi has a different ground clearance than the other lancers. Its due to the bodykit and alloy wheels.

Devarshi It's not due to the body kit. It's infact due to the wrong tyre size selected for the car.
That is what reduces the ground clearance. The lowest point is the 2 rails on the bottom.
they are lower than the side skirting. Change the tyres and the ground clearance is then proper.

have a look in my garage the car's got a higher stance.

Devarshi your right in the numbers but it's not due to the body kit it's cause of the tyres.

The GLXi tyre's size is 175/80-13. The ground clearance as you have pointed out is 182mm. The radius for the tyre comes out to 305mm.

The SFXi comes with 185/60-14.The radius for this tyre is only 289mm. Which is a drop by 16mm. This is the only reason the ground clearance is bad. The specs on the HM site are incorrect for sure. The speedo error due to this tyre size is huge. It Shows a better mileage as well since the tyre is 5.33% too fast.

If you change to 185/65-14 the radius goes upto 298mm and the error is 7mm which is how you get the 175mm GC.

I have put in 195/60-14 which gives me a radius of 295mm.

The SFXi body kit does not change the car's ground clearance. If it did the body kit would be the part hitting the cars underbelly.

Anyways thats the GC difference between the SFXi and GLXi.

What would be the best tyre option for SFXi?
Will 15 inch wheels make any difference with the tyre option suggested?

Sorry Vid, I didnt read your post properly.

I never really measured the details but I knew the fact that there is a difference. I was putting forward the same point as you but without facts. :P

205/55/15 is a good tyre upsize for the Lancer. 15*6.5 alloys should go well with these tyres.
