Re: VW Virtus - Tweaks, Mods & Adaptations using VCDS

Mod Note : Please quote ONLY the relevant bits of a post. Quoting a full, long post inconveniences our mobile readers.

Thanks!

The VWs of the past used to have all four one touch windows & this feature was available from the factory. The Virtus has only driver window one touch. So, it is only possible to raise or lower the driver window from the remote key, which is sad.

Steps –
Here is what it looks like. Also displays Throttle position as a bar below the dials. The are two more bar displays below the TPS bar, which displays Fuel on the LHS and Coolant Temperature on the RHS. Sports is always RED, no matter what your infotainment screen theme is.

Here is what it looks like.

Additionally, you also get a menu under Car -> Settings, labelled Climate. This allows you to switch between Soft, Normal and Aggressive cooling modes

Please note that after making changes to Control Module 5F - Information Electr. you will need to switch off ignition, lock the car and wait for a few minutes (I wait 5 minutes) to allow the Infotainment unit to power down comepletely & reboot, for the changes to take effect.

PS: I have also enabled Tear Drop Wiping and Eco Tips display, but haven't had a chance to test them yet. Will share the details after I test them and confirm that they are working as expected.
PPS: That blue graph like thingie on the pics is the reflection from the Instrument Cluster Bezel and not any kind of adaptation

Tried all these adaptations for the infotainment and noticed something, the dashboard menu started acting strange, it refused to switch between different dial displays when the view button on the steering is pressed and also when I pressed 'OK' on the steering wheel, the 'please switch on lights' warning didn't go.

Didn't turn off the car for a while to let the systems reset before I tried it though. Will update once I let the systems reset.

Did anybody else face this issue?

Re: VW Virtus - Tweaks, Mods & Adaptations using VCDS

Hello,

Need some help coding the Virtus 1.5 MY2023.

I am not able to see the relevant channels in Instruments-Adaptations to get rid of the speed warnings, Enabling RPM meter, Changing the MID colours.

I could enable refuel quantity though through the long coding.

And in the central electronics module, the security code 31347 is getting refused. The same code shows in the pop up balloon as well but not being accepted. So no changes possible there also.

This is via clone Hex V2 cable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: VW Virtus - Tweaks, Mods & Adaptations using VCDS

Can anyone here confirm whether these mods can be done with the VCDS lite software and a third party cable. Even the enthusiast version of RossTech is costing above 24k with shipping charges. And if this is possible, can anyone here provide me with a link for a reliable VCDS cable which will work properly with the Ross tech software?

Had the same issue. But the difference was, it happened even before I tried any adaptations. Just after doing an autoscan and backup of channel maps. Went to the ASC and they fixed it with Odis. They couldn’t pinpoint the issues either. Fixed all of the factory fault codes too. Which car do you have? Ive got a Skoda Kushaq 1.5 DSG MY24

Really happy that it got fixed. I truly understand how annoying these kind of issues can be. More than the issue not knowing what caused it or how to fix it will bother us more.

Could it be because of the SFD2 protection newer cars have? I've read in the same thread that cars manufactured post april 2024 have SFD 2 protection. But I'm not sure if that is only for writing adaptations into the control modules or if it is for reading as well. Experts can comment on it. Would love to gain more info.

I don’t think SFD should cause this. Let me ask you this, when you got the steering button problems, did you have the computer connected to a wall socket?

Great thread. Your car is the top model 1.5. Can these changes be done to the lower variants and 1.0 variants of the Virtus and Slavia?

Nope. Had put it on full charge and then took it to the car park. No power socket there

Then we can zero it down to the SW version mismatch. I mean ODIS one-click basically updated all the SW version of all the components, hence when I got the car back from the ASC all the DTCs were cleared. The ASC guy looked confused as he could not understand why this happened, he just knew odis fixed it.

I had my laptop connected to a socket when I performed the autoscan initially. And ross-tech forums mention the possibility of ground loop happening which would cause the CAN bus to send implausible signals (which I got as a DTC popup initially) - After reading about this I always use VCDS with my laptop on battery power. Never had an issue after that!

Have you tried unlocking SFD2 yet? I'm trying to find a service provider that provides codes which would directly work on VCDS.

It should work, however, since I don't want to promote piracy here, I will not post any links. You can directly ask the seller any questions related to compatibility!
