Finding the VIN & manufacturing date/year on Indian cars

Please, can someone decode the above VIN ?

I have a doubt regarding the above VIN since the invoice mentions the manufacturing month as August 2009 whereas the above VIN suggests otherwise.

TATA- Looks like June, pls do check with other cars in the stockyard to get confirmation.

No, it's not with the dealer.Actually, the owner is willing to sell this car but this is one thing which has put me in a dilemma.

Check the Service history of this car with the TASS, they will be having the details of the same.

Hi Friends, I need your help on this VIN number, I did PDI of ford fiesta S and as per the threads I rejected the model as it had 9C meaning 2009 march manufacturing tag, the dealer says its Sep model, I told him very clearly give me K series or Oct manufactured vehicle. He said he will get back am i being taken for a ride? I have just paid 18k and booked the vehicle and I am not willing to goahead until I get K series please advice me.

The dealer is right

^^^Ford VIN number for the year 2009,

The 11th digit represent YEAR , if its 9 then year is 2009
The 12th digit represent MONTH, if its C the month is September, if its K then its October

This is applicable for the year 2009 only

November = D
December = E

I hope this clear up your doubt.

I was trying to decipher the same for a Mitsubishi Cedia. I found the following:

I have a feeling that Japanese cars do not indicate the month of manufacture in their VIN.

If you try to decode the VIN manually like we do in some cars ,it wont reveal the date or month of the vehicle, but in some makers its an exception. But every VIN contains the Manufacturing date, month and other specific details of that vehicle.

Wildon, can you tell the Fiesta's date of manufacture from the VIN? Only the month of manufacture seems to have been figured out till now.
