Re: Skids With Diesel Energy: Chevrolet Beat LS

Congrats for the ChevyD. The dashboard inserts look kinda nice. 20+ FE is quite commendable for the hatch. What is the max speed achieved by you?
Happy mile crunching.

Re: Skids With Diesel Energy: Chevrolet Beat LS

@ b_ambat - congrats on the Beat D

Glad to know i got company in the forum

Very good ICE setup (i got similar setup and will be updating in my thread soon), is it from Galaxy? Any vibrations in high volumes or have you done any damping?

Good and better review of car than mine, sadly my driving is limited to office and back ,haven't gone for highway trip this weekend thanks to harthal

Too bad you didn't got any freebies ,I got floor mats, mudflaps, central locking,3M coating as freebies

Nice touch with carbon fibre stickers,do they have any other patterns of carbon fibre stickers , have seen pics of a beat with another pattern in forum

In trivandrum maintenance package was offered at 18k (as per chevy site) , i also didn't opt for it

Can you post more pics of DIY seat height adjust

I was too lazy to start the thread, yesterdays hartal gave me apt time.

good to hear that u had a better deal with the dealer, I think its worth purchasing from TVM. Geeyem Motors is playing monopoly game here, even the mud flap wasn't a Freebie.

ICE setup is from Emperor and the front speaker covers or something around rattles at high volumes, thinking of some damping at the front. Your front speaker setup looks neat and it suits the dashboard.

Dealer only has that pattern of stickers, I had also seen wooden patterns but personally i don't like them.

As the seats are fixed now, I will post more pictures later.

Thanks mate. Exact FE figures and Max speed will be updated soon after the first service. As per my rough calculations 120 could be the safest max speed (3000 rpm range).

Congratulations on the beat! A good practical hatch, love the modern look of it. One suggestion, Leather wrap the steering wheel.

Congratulations alot on buying the New Beat TCDi.
Its really looks COOL in white & with Custom Plati alloys.
My vote also goes with the Interior Add-On Carbon fibre trim.

Do update us regularly with its Fuel efficiency & Ownership experience.

Thanks, I still feel the steering is too small, so leather wrap is a big no.

Re: Skids With Diesel Energy: Chevrolet Beat LS

Congrats ambat. The Beat never looked so good to my eyes!I must say the alloys look awesome and lend the car a different stance altogether!

I was planning on adding a diesel car to my fleet and i was thinking about the Polo TDI but after looking at your car,it has got me thinking!I hope you come up with a complete ownership report along with a lot of pictures!!

Cheers!

Re: Skids With Diesel Energy: Chevrolet Beat LS

Congrats b_ambat on your new Skids-D.
Your car looks great with those alloys.
Nice pics.
Does the carbon fiber trim extends to the doors?
Bibin, could you please explain more about the seat height increase? Did you remove the total seat assembly? or only the seat cushion part? Are all the spacers of same height?(did you alter the rake angle?)
3 day booking for service.. too much and that too for the 1000km check-up! Which service center you are referring to?
BTW, which part of Kerala you belong to?

Congrats b_ambat.
Your beat with those alloys looks awesome, and nice ice setup too.
Very innovative way to increase the seat height. Did you put spacer in all the four bolts or only in the front ones.

Thanks Salbin
carbon fiber trim- Yes it extends to the doors bot not full length, I will post the pictures.

Seat height- I just removed the Cushion alone and added 4 spacers of same dimention. There won't be any change in angle and visible we won't see any difference.

Service- Geeyem Motors, nettur, kochi and I asked them for the next day but they told me that minimum 3 days period is required.

I am from EKM (Mulanthuruthy), and you?

Thanks Topolino, Happy that you liked the Alloys and ice. Yes I had used Spacers for all 4 Bolts, else it would be of no use.
