Re: The Bull II (TB II) - M&M MHawk Scorpio LX 4x4

October 20, 2012 - IIIrd free service - 14917 Kms

TB II was 83 Kms short of 15k and due for its 3rd free service. Had tried Koncept, NOIDA twice earlier and thought why not try Sterling, GGN this time. Called up their service center on 18th & booked the truck for 19th & was told to bring the vehicle at 9am.

Wheeled in the truck at dot 9 in the ASC. The SA allotted to me was Ravinder & 15 minutes later he came with the job card. Inspected the vehicle from inside & outside, checked under the hood & also the boot. He asked me if anything specific was to be done since in this service nothing was to be replaced & only inspected. I had issues with headlight focussing & propellor shaft and also with the front torsion bar. This was duly noted & I asked him to change all fluids & filters. No questions asked & no answers given. Funnily Ravinder didn't push for any underbody or teflon coating, engine flush etc.

Truck was wheeled in and after almost two hours it was driven in the bay & work started. By 1.30 all the jobs were completed when lunch was declared. Only alignment & washing was left.

I too went out to grab some food. When I came back the truck was not in the bay. It had been taken for headlight focussing. And then disaster struck.

Sometime earlier it appears that the vehicle got automatically locked by the security system and the mechanic opened the door with the key instead of the remote. This was a breach of the security system and I got a message on my mobile that the vehicle is being tampered with. I ignored and that was a big mistake. After sending this message, the security system disables the ECU. The car wouldn't start since the ignition wouldn't switch on. They pushed the vehicle into the bay again and started opening up the ignition checking the wiring. I had not known this. When I looked into the garage area from the lounge I saw 3 or 4 mechanics going all over my vehicle. A bit alarmed, I made my way to the garage floor. They apprised me of the problem and then brought a new ignition unit to check. That too wouldn't work. I had totally forgotten about that message on the mobile. After more than an hour was wasted checking for a fault, I suddenly remembered and literally kicked my self.

Reset the system from my mobile and all lights came back. Vehicle started and the HLs were focussed and the car sent to the washing bay.

TB II was finally handed over to me at 5 pm while it could've been delivered two hours earlier but for my mistake. Paid the requisite amount, showed the gate pass and zoomed out. The truck felt lighter & peppier. I know it is psychological but still....

The damages:

1. Oil Filter - Rs. 154.73
2. Fuel Filter - Rs. 1650.99
3. Air Filter - Rs. 489.67
4. Maximile Elite differential oil (4 ltrs) - Rs. 1160.44
5. Maximile Engine oil (6.5 ltrs) - Rs. 1651.46
6. Maximile Gear oil (2 ltrs) - Rs. 634.72
7. Wheel balancing - Rs. 450.00
8. Wheel Alignment - Rs. 450.00
------------------------------------------
Total - Rs. 6642.01
Various taxes - Rs. 864.83
Grand Total - Rs. 7506.84
-----------------------------------------
Happy Bull, Happy Owner.

Lovely periodic updates on your TB-II GD sir. Thanks for sharing.
Sir, can you please share more details on the GSM based tracking system that you've installed on your Bull which enables you to control the vehicle from your mobile phone. I would like to know more on this and if possible install it on my new vehicle which is expected to be delivered around Diwali.
Cheers

The LX 4x4 - TB II - desecrated

Was trying to find a superlative word for extreme anger - furious, shaking with rage, murderous mood. Couldn't find any better, so settled for furious.

And the reason of my extreme anger is this - TB II has been desecrated.

I've planned out what all I'm going to do if I lay my hands on the perpetrator. Gouging out one eye or dismantling the carpels one-by-one or even bobbitting.

I'm open to more suggestions... aaaarrrgghhh..!

My entire day is ruined..

Shucks !!! Sad that such a thing happened GD bhai. Looks like the scratches are way too deep and only a paint job would help. No amount of expletives would be enough, get it repainted and move on.

Which vehicle are you buying Harjeev?

Shucks, this is bad Panditji. Where did this happen? At your apt parking?
This will need the bonnet to be repainted completely or a very very good painter to do the touch up.

Re: The Bull II (TB II) - M&M MHawk Scorpio LX 4x4

Was ok till 2:30 in the noon yesterday. I had gone out at 11:30 and returned by 2:30. Parked at my slot and then didn't come down till this morning. GDW pointed out to me as soon as I came to go for work.

Since then I've done all kinds of dances, from Hula-hoo to the death dance of the Mambesi.

Ouch! That looks deep!

Had gone through the same pain when a moron decided to give my Safari a lining around the vehicle!

What do you plan to do?

That will satisfy your rage, but what about TB II?

For me, it was 'live with it', since if I needed to correct it, I would need to do repaint of the entire vehicle! :(

And yes, I do hope you get the culprit.

You can pass it on as a special edition signature from your favourite celebrity (or his/her lookalike). Even I have some vandalism marks on my Marengo. Though they blend pretty well with his attitude.

Its really very sad indeed. I don't really understand what the perpetrator achieves by doing something like this. Happiness, satisfaction, Joy...
They would have to be really sick in their minds to do something like this and these same guys start fighting on the road when someone even brushes their car, by mistake and leaves a small scratch.
The same thing happened when I bought my i10 in 2009 and took it to a friends house in Rajouri Garden and bear in mind that at the time the vehicle was just a week to ten days old. All the 5 doors bear the handiwork of some sadistic guy(s). Felt really bad at the time but have left it (the scratches) like that ever since. I didn't feel like repainting all the 5 doors of a new vehicle.
Cheer up GD saab, the 1st scratch/ dent is always the worst. I'm already reconciled with the day its going to happen on the Verna that's still to come home.

Re: The Bull II (TB II) - M&M MHawk Scorpio LX 4x4

This has reference to my post #: 121 of 20th October, 2012. I filled the tank after the IIIrd service to check mileage.

Happy to say that TB II returned a mileage of 13.46 kmpl in the city with frequent AC usage. Incidentally, the truck also got its Acetone treatment for the first time since purchase.

Well, for the benefit of newbies and late entrants, the link given below shall answer your raised eyebrows about the "Acetone treatment".

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...ne-petrol.html

FYI, the older Bull gets the regular Acetone shot at every tankfull.

Re: The Bull II (TB II) - M&M MHawk Scorpio LX 4x4

I came across this scorpio LX 4wd review by cartoq on Youtube. Noticed the red coloured tow hook at the rear and felt that this is a familiar car. Checked the reg. Number and other mods, it is indeed TB -II which is featured in the review. The car looks very handsome in the video.

This is very awful.
Had the same done to our indica.
Infact, somebody had scribbled some expletives using a blade on the bonnet.
We had to get the bonnet repainted as the scratches were deep.

You can either go for a decal to cover it, or get the bonnet repainted.

That said, vandalism is pretty common. Check out the vandalism thread.
