Also in Kolkata one does not pay life time road tax but pays the tax only for 5 years and have to pay again after 5 years. Ofcourse that saves you some money incase you decide to sell the car within 5 years since then the next owner will pay the road tax for the second 5 year period.

Yeah I paid a premium for registration charges.
Actually I got the car in the first lot to the city so the dealer wanted 20K.
I negotiated down to 10K. Can you believe it?

Actual cost for registration Rs 1500/
The dealer took the rest as personal profit/cheat

The brake up he gave was
Registration + Green tax + Accessories + Handling charges = 20K

which later he reduced to 10K

20K only for 0% insurance, did you look into the insurance document clearly on how much the car is being insured and how much each person in the car is insured. Hope they did not reduce all that to give you a sweet figure.

Why did you put up with that nonsense? You should have complained to Nissan about the same. This is plain blackmailing.

Can you share your insurance cover note details? I didn't think of this. I do not have much idea about what should be considered ideal when buying insurance. I just choose depending upon the quotes.

I bargained pretty hard for the almost 25k I paid for my 0% dep insurance.

Can you please post the insurance cover note here? It will be of great help for other car buyer + me for the future.

I have still not got the cover note. My NCB certificate took some time to come and hence the delay. Also the Nissan dealer is known to me and probably thats why they matched the quote outside. But that should not count since outside anyways I was getting the quote of 20.**k from Bharti Axa. I will post the cover note once I get it. Can you share yours? So that I can compare it and if the dealer is taking me for a ride then I can still get the insurance done from outside.

Sorry abhji to post my experience on your thread

Same here. I bargained for 3 whole days with the car in the stock yard after PDI.

I did complaint about it, before when they demanded 30K as extra.
Once the company stepped in, they brought it down to 20K by adding in extended bonus.
I will be soon writing my buying experience from the dealer, it was a 3 day nonsense.

The initial quote was Rs32K, which later came down to 24K approximately, with no change in the insurance clause.

I will post the details of my insurance in sometime.

By the way are you using your No claim from your previous car?
I did not transfer any No claim bonus.

Re: Sunny days are here again... (Nissan Sunny Diesel XL)

Congrats DrMohit for the caaar..... Being an owner of the Sunny myself, I can assure you of a good experience ahead. I have clocked ~2300 kms so far in 2 months on my diesel XL and have not regretted the decision one bit (touchwood!)

Am a bit surprised by the FE - I drive in heavy Bangalore traffic (~30 kms a day) and I seem to be getting ~16-17 on city traffic.

Congrats AbhiJ, great choice. Backseat of Sunny is definitely the place to be in. Love the rims. Hows the OEM ICE? any upgrades planned?

Yup I am transferring 35% NCB from my previous car to this. If you have got NCB from your old car which you are selling then you can also get the same transferred to this insurance from next year. Refer to the Insurance section for more detailed information regarding the same.

Thanks a lot. The FE figures are very much realistic and infact you can expect it to slightly increase further after 3-4k kms. My Altis diesel gives me 19kmpl constantly in Delhi traffic with 100% AC and so I expect the Sunny to be the same.

Now lets not hijack the OP's thread any further.

Thanks. ICE is disappointing. No USB and bad speakers. Planning an upgrade. Please contribute.

I am keenly following your ICE thread. Any idea how much will one get for the OEM HU?

The first scratch brings in a heart attack! From the looks of it, I guess a bit of rubbing compund, and it might just vanish. If you have time, please call up some detailing guys or take it to 3M.

Re: Sunny days are here again... (Nissan Sunny Diesel XL)

Hey Abhij I took my Sunny's delivery today. I am a bit busy and hence cannot post a detailed experience but somethings I noticed and wanted to confirm with you are:

1. I found the finish of the area above the glove box a little bad. I am referring to the closing line/ top edge of the glove box once it is closed. It is quite sharp if I can say so.

2. Secondly the 2 black latches for the fuel lid opener and bonnet release are horrible. They feel cheap and are also not aligned properly with a slight tilt towards to driver side's gate. Is it the same in your car too?

3. The gear shift is surely a little notchy and not as smooth as I would have loved.

4. No remote for the Stock ICE. When Nissan clearly wants to target the chauffeur driven class with the Sunny, the absence of a remote is a big mistake. Can we get one from outside for the Stock ICE?
