Did you get the underbody coating done. The accessories sales manager in my dealership told me that Ertiga comes with anti-rust underbody coating, so no additional expenditure is needed on that front during delivery. After a few years of usage and depreciation, maybe. The only "essential" accessory that he recommended (beyond foot-mats and seat cover of course) was the Teflon coating and the rubber strip in the side. Since I drive an Innova without a rear view cam, he advised against that as well.

Considering he was losing real money with this approach, I appreciated his honesty. I also presumed it must be true. Has anyone heard anything else?

No, I did not go for under body coating.
My SE told me exactly the same thing regarding under body coating.
Only done Color protection at 3M.

re: Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi EDIT: Now sold!

First post, but I have been a lurker for long.

To begin, let me thank the numerous contributors on Team-BHP for sharing their knowledge with the larger public. Apart from the forum members, I believe there would be many more occasional visitors who benefit from the collective and individual wisdom shared here.

Kalinga, thanks much for the detailed thread. I am in Pune as well and am looking to buy an Ertiga ZXi this month. I am talking to a few dealers to find the best deal. Surprising that they don't have exciting offers given the current state of the market and the declining numbers for the Ertiga. Your thread (and the contributions of others on this and the main review thread) has been very useful in helping me finalize the LUV. Thanks again!

re: Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi EDIT: Now sold!

Kalinga, can you please re-confirm the price structure? I talked to the My Car SE who says that there seems to be some mix-up in the numbers that you have posted. Per her, the ex-showroom price should include the standard discounts, which means you "might" have calculated the discounts twice. Of course, you would be the best person to state the final amount that you paid the dealer, and I guess that's the price that ultimately matters.

Here's the break-up that she provided.
Ex-showroom: 7,69,802 (seems to match with Maruti's website)
Insurance (zero-dep): 29,142
RTO tax: 75,282
Ext. warranty: 10,421
OTR: 8,84,647
Discounts: approx. 27,000 (including exchange bonus of 15,000)
Final OTR: 8,57,647

Thanks!

re: Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi EDIT: Now sold!

One small update:

Returned from shiridi drive on Sunday afternoon. A total of around 450 KM drive. I love the car handle on SH and normal(call pothole + single lane) road. The car was loaded with 6 adults and luggage. Performance was very good with AC on. Mileage was around 15 KMPL.

But after the drive I felt pain in my left shoulder. The car needs an Arm rest for driver.
I decided to fit an Arm rest before my next long drive.

Any idea where in pune I can gen an Arm rest for my Ertiga. ?

I feel the car deserves a better rubber. Atleast 205 profile will suffice the requirment.

re: Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi EDIT: Now sold!

Have you come across this one from Ebay ?
Seems like universal types. I have seen similar one on Swifts. But i am not sure of the beige matching the Ertiga interior.

I might go to Reliance Autozone next weekend once i am Back in Bangalore. There i will be able to compare and install.

re: Hatch Back To "LUV" - My New Ertiga ZXi EDIT: Now sold!

Update :

Last weekend I drove around 400 KM (Pune- Mumbai-Pune With some KM in Mumbai City) in a day with a full load. (5 adult + Lots of luggage).

The car was well planted on the road with the above amount of load. I changed my tyre pressure (Nitrogen) to Front - 32 & Rear 33 PSi.

The car was pulling throughout in all the gears. So less gear change ...less stress to the driver..

With 100 % AC. On Expressway speed was constant 90/100 KMPH.

KMPL ??

On DTE the mileage was 16.5.

I believe the real time mileage should be around 15 KMPL

Now the car is running over 1800 KM on ODO. In One month 1800 KM..not bad..

Some pics from the drive :

1800kms in a month. You surely are going places in your new car. I have only touched 500 in 2 weeks that too in a diesel. I had to travel most of last week without my car.

Did you do tankful and calculate the real mileage ? Why do you think its less than the MID is showing ?
Because i did second tankful yesterday and observed that the mileage shown on MID and what i calculated with tankful difference is exactly same. If it is same with you, then your actual FE could be more closer to what display is saying, which is good

I have not calculated the KMPL in tankful method till now. But in general the real mileage should be -1 KM from the DTE number. I do not have any realtime formula for this.

Here in forum, members are calculated in this way. If the real mileage is same as DTE...then i am the happiest person in this world.

EDIT: One more long drive planned next month. A total of 1500 KM round trip.

Accessories For Maruti Suzuki ERTIGA (All Model)

The Ertiga is not a new entry for Indian market.
But the Accessories option for this car is very limited.

Those are available are not VFM product. Some are looking sub standard.
Maruti is also offering some Accessories, but those are high priced as compared to product available in the open market.

Even almost same time this car was launched in INDONESIA .
Now that market is flooded with Ertiga Accessories.

I found some pics of those Accessories.

Can anyone suggest from where i can source this type of product.

The car in last pic looks killer! wish it had double barrel headlamps.
Indonesian accessory market looks pretty advanced to compared to what we have here!

Its not easy(money wise) to convert the ertiga like last pic.Looks like someone did custom mod.

The one in Indonesia has chrome overdose in the front. You have a white Ertiga and black compliments it well isn't it ?

One option for you would be to plan a trip to SE countries like Thailand with your family and get accessories on your way back. Everyone will enjoy it

Good Suggestion Raj.

I want the chrome strip on front grill only. That will look good on white or any color.

My Car is still in stock without any accessories except floor mat.

Planning to install a rearview camera first from MGA only. In tight parking slot it is very difficult to judge.

Same with me as well.

If its just the front grill, then keep an eye on online sites like ebay to get it for you from SE countries . Surprisingly i see very less accessories for Ertiga, for swift there were plenty of accessories available.

Coming to reversing sensors, I feel it is the first few months when we feel the need for these because we are not used to the car.

So if you are able to manage without a reversing sensor for first couple of months, then there is a good chance that by then you will know the vehicle dimension and do not need it at all
