Thanks, I'll try it next time. I didn't see the symptom yesterday in similar circumstances.

Wednesday night -> I took her out in reasonable city traffic for about 20 km, after coming home I noticed the noise when braking down the ramp & into the parking lot (almost at stationary speeds)

Thursday night -> I took her out on a longer drive (approx 55 km, of which first 25 km in city traffic and the return journey through highway about 30 km). At the start of the journey I heard the brake noise, but when I finally returned home, I didn't notice the noise.

I saw many T-Jetters reported brake noise earlier in TBHP forums, and one point I saw was if the car was washed immediately prior to the brake noise symptom. In my case, the car is not washed with a lot of water. My apartment car cleaners (a company called Ec@wash) use a fine misty spray of water & wipe instead of using buckets of water.

I just wanted to make sure if I need to visit the service centre so soon or not (just 250 km of running after delivery). I'll keep an eye/ear out for the problem and see the service folks if it seems like a regular occurrence.

I hear a sound (coo...) when I apply brake - is it normal ? It's particularly audible in a quiet environment, at slow speed (e.g., parking at my apartment basement, no ambient noise).
That noise has been there in my T-jet since day 1. Even after 38.5K KMs and a change of one complete set (disc + pads) that noise is present.

While the service center could never give a conclusive response, this is what I found on internet. This might be one of the reasons for this noise.

Squealing noises are most noticeable with semi-metallic brake pads because they involve metal rubbing against metal. The asbestos material in these pads has been replaced with metal shavings. Despite the high-pitched squealing noises, these brakes are functioning correctly. Because these semi-metallic pads tend to last longer and are frequently more superior regarding stopping power, manufacturers tend to ignore the noise problems associated with their functioning.

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

@pdma many many congratulations and i look forward to reading your thread on it.

With respect to the brake noise , the firs time it popped up in my car which i got reasonably obsessed with it and decided to take the service guys to task in terms of being able to locate and get rid of it. They were unable and it so turned out that a very detailed cleaning session of the wheels at 3M took care of the problem. It then cropped up again some months back , cleaning session repeated and noise went.

I guess its in the assembly line. Either pdma is updating details or the mods have pushed it back to assembly line for want of more data/information.

@pdma, get the ownership thread up and running soon.

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

Hello Folks,

Due to some reason the songs from the USB drive are playing in repeat mode and I have to manually intervene every time to switch to the next song. I have tried checking the options to see if the repeat mode is engaged, however I was unable to locate or find this option. I would request for help in this regard, also it would be great of someone can let me know how to switch folders.

Cheers,
pdma.

Congrats pdma, on your new car. I'd say its the best choice in the segment in terms of looks, handling, safety and stability.

For disabling the repeat option. Turn the key to MAR . Press the windows button and navigate to media player settings. The blue and me lady will guide you telling each and every available command and at last in media player settings say repeat off. Otherwise see if you can directly disable by simply saying track repeat/loop off. Commands might slightly change according to you blue and me version. Check the blue and me supplement for the commands.

Thanks a ton Umesh,

I tried this option and it worked and now the songs move sequentially without any issues. Also would you be able to help me with the option to change folders as Iam unable to find the same.

Cheers,
pdma.

Try saying browse folders after pressing windows key or use the arrow button in the Head Unit. Looking forward to your ownership review and what is your opinion about the music system and speakers in terms of sound quality, bass etc. The stock speakers in my linea(2011 model) was a huge disappointment. Are you considering an ICE upgrade?

Thank you Umesh.
Using voice commands I followed the below path to toggle around the folders.
- press the blue&me icon on the steering wheel and say media.
- then select the option advance USB options from the available commands.
- then select folders
- post this the selection options are moved to the MID display. We can toggle between the available folders using the up and down key on the steering and then press the call option to select the folder.
- once the folder is selected the MID now displays the content of the folders where we can now select a specific song. On selection press the call option again to play the selected song.

Iam fine with the stock speakers for now and absolutely no plans of changing anything . Also my ownership review is under MOD's review and hopefully should be out soon.
