Re: Pre-Owned Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT (Dubai)

On Thursday evening, I was heading on my way back home from office.

I was in a service lane which further ahead merges into another lane, thus causing a small bottleneck during peak hours.

Traffic had come to a standstill and I joined the queue of stationary cars to merge into the lane ahead. I glanced at my IRVM and I could see a black Audi Q5 approaching me at a slow pace. Then the cars in front of me started moving. I slot the car into "D" and BAMMM! Within half a second, I realized I have been hit from behind by this Audi.

We both parked our cars to the side and thankfully, the damage was minimal. The gentleman driving the Audi was an Indian, from Kanpur. He accepted his mistake, we called the cops and they gave him a ticket and issued a green accident report for me, which means his insurance company will pay for my damages and I do not have to pay anything from my pocket.

Re: Pre-Owned Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT (Dubai)

Due to various commitments and EID holidays in between, I could not manage to repair the car. Anyways, I handed over the car to the garage this Saturday morning and was promised that I will get it back by Sunday evening.

Meanwhile I wanted to rent a cheap car and this is what I got -

A KIA PICANTO

Fun little car, comes with a 1.2 engine which makes a not so great 86 bhp. But easy to zip around in town, the AC is a chiller and the overall driving experience is fine as long as you do not cross 100 kmph.

As promised, got my car back on Sunday evening with the rear bumper sorted. What a relief it is to drive the Lancer, after the Picanto!

Nothing had to be paid from my side as the responsible party's insurance will cover for everything.

My rear cam does not work though and I will have to get it fixed soon.

Got the rear camera replaced for INR 1,450.

It is not a branded one but works well with my head unit and the clarity is good, even during low light conditions.

Re: Pre-Owned Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT (Dubai)

My old friend is gone.

As mentioned in this thread, the trusted Jap got replaced by a fat American.

The Fusion is more comfortable, spacious and refined, but the red Lancy will always be missed. After all, it was my first car in UAE and I have very fond memories with it.
