re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

Wonderfully written review!

Regarding some of the opinions of the car, it is advantageous to have a car that is better than perceived by the masses, for that's what makes it good value for money.

Congratulations again!

re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

Congrats!!!!

Has to be one of the best ownership reviews on Team-BHP for sure. Brilliant read.

I also agree that the S Cross is currently one of the most underrated Cars in India. Although for me personally and for my use in the City i believe the 1.3 Zeta is a super Value For Money offering.

Wow what a review .Probably the best owner review I have read in recent times on team bhp. It also showcases your patience in collecting info and presenting it in the right format. This post has set high standards for user review reports

Fantastic review Mi10! You have articulated reasons for choosing S-Cross and the 320 NM version brilliantly as well.

Your review has the kind of material Maruti should have used to promote the crossover.

Many congratulations and happy motoring!

Brilliant Review! Too sad to see your Rapid go in that state. But, Congratulations on your newly acquired beast and I'm eagerly waiting to take the delivery of the same.

re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

Thank you one and all for such generous compliments; Indeed, i am flattered!

Yes, the S Cross is a brilliant package, let down by the pricing department; But one cannot simply comment on the pricing strategy - there should have been some rationale that is best understood by the top dogs of MUL.

To me, the S Cross is an Android at heart, with Windows appeal and an Apple Price tag! This conglomeration of confusion probably didn't strike the right chords with masses.

Everyday morning, when i start the car, my heart pumps up a little more Adrenalin - This what i wanted from a car and i am very happy, the S cross 1.6 is managing to do that to me.

Here is the line up for coming months
  • Beauty lies in the beholder's pocket | Subtle Aesthetic mods
  • Detailing Day | Detailing my S cross
  • In(-)car(-)nation | Naming Ceremony
  • Power of an underdog | Performance upgrade

I will keep this thread alive and kicking for sure. Stay tuned

Thank you!
I like pictorial representation, since it catches the eye of the reader effectively. and, 'Brevity is the soul of the wit' - Combine these two and you get an info-graphic. The trick however is to convey the content in a concise way, without confusing the party

It has enough torque - Yes, but is it effectively using it ? No
and Why?, because the Torque delivery is spiky and not linear to be enjoyed at all revs.
Of course, i will have to drive her atleast 3000-3500 kms to fully understand the power and torque delivery at varying RPMs. Post that, i can customize a tune that is best suited for my taste and driving pattern.

Fabulous writeup! You are a great writer Sir! Glued till the end. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful story! Superb eye to details too. Please keep the thread updated. Congrats on your new acquisition.

I almost had misty eyes when I saw the picture of your Rapid. Your incident was indeed sad.

And brilliant choice of alloys! They have given the car a totally new look but also retained the sleeper nature.

Neel

P.S: I hope that someday I get to write as good as this.

re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

Due to various reasons, its been years I since I posted my last one here in tbhp. But your review made me to recollect my password!

Very innovative and serious effort you have put in!

Congrats on the drive and personally S-Cross 1.6 is a very sensible machine but sadly it failed due to the Maruti image and the absurd pricing!

I can vouch it is a solid cruiser, 100kmph and more all day along should not be an issue. Post your long drive observations and drive-ability.

p.s. I just couldn't believe it has a manual AC!

Congrats again!

re: CrossbreedŽ | Mi10's Maruti S-Cross 1.6 DDiS 320 - Remapped! Update: Sold!

What a fantastic review Mi10! Loved the S Cross with your personal touches like the alloys.

What surprises me is the parts bin sharing done on s cross. Those manual AC controls are from the Ertiga and the window switches too. It seems fine on the Ertiga which is a 10 lac vehicle but on the S Cross, something more premium is the need of the hour.

Congrats and wishing you many happy miles!

Many congratulations for your new purchase. And equally saddened to know about your beloved Rapid.
Although , underrated S- Cross is a good product. It can for sure wade through the flood waters and continue to serve you and your family.
Happy motoring

Awesome review there! Thanks for sharing
I never felt that the car is boring to look at, but this review presented the machine in a whole new avatar and made it a bit more handsome (or beautiful, based on the gender).

Great choice with the 1.6 variant; happy motoring!

A Definite Yes!

Except for bumper to bumper and very crowded city traffic, the 1.6 is really good to use in city. Like i said, one needs to spend little time in understanding the gearbox, post which they can exploit the extra horses in 1.6.

However, the tune of either engines are not linear, hence one cannot knife though the traffic like a Figo / Aspire 1.5 TDCI or even a Polo 1.5 (to an extent)
