I totally agree. It was a total disappoint for me. Please see the three colors that I have posted in the same thread.

Ya you are right the engine that they are launching here is the 69bhp engine but in europe they have two 1.4L diesels one is the 69 bhp ( the one they are getting here ) and the other one is an 80bhp engine . Thats what the news channels have been reporting on their shows but i think they have gotten it wrong . Oly the 1.4 petrol 85 bhp and the 1.4 TDI PD 69 bhp are launching here in India . In europe they also have an optio for the 1.9 TDI PD ( the same one from the Laura)

1 day to go

Looks like the launch of the Fabia is tomorrow i.e, Jan 8th, 2008.

If you go to fabiafeelspecial site Today i.e, Jan 7th, 2008 it says 1 day to go.

We should expect some fireworks by Skoda tomorrow. I hope they will be announce the long awaited prices as well.

exactly. there is so much speculation without any substance at all. till yesterday the site said-1 day to go...now it says nothing. so i guess the launch is today. its time they came up with all the details.

review time!!

Friend test-drove the car. got the whole review from him. is in point format and i am too bored to edit it. he lives in mumbai by the way. i haven't driven it and am so excited by the review i have posted it at many sites-all that i know of.hehe.
here it is.
car looks great in white and brilliant in silver.

on display were 3 cars all tdi's candy white. cappuccino beige, and brilliant silver. at showroom opp fame adlabs.

boot space is pretty big for a hatch back.

seems to have good ground clearance. not sure about it though.

i love the big bonnet, makes me feel as though the car is a huge engine.

the class of any product or service comes out in the detailing. this car surely
has been given a lot of attention. small features like defogger for the driver's window, lock and unlock button on the center console in front of the cup holders. touch pad button for opening the rear hatch etc etc.

even if the driver's seat is taken fully behind the backseat passenger does have good legroom. car feels really strong when you sit in the driver's seat. steering wheel is great and also i love the gear stick.

the car does not look huge at all, although it is huge.

my thought is that because of the high price tag, owning a fabia would become more of a statement, saying that "i have the king of all hatchbacks". although its way to early to give it such a title. but something like that. "i have a European car and i have enough money to maintain it". also lets see how people pete this car!!

ohh almost forgot, the tires man. they are gorgeous and really wide, am sure they'll offer good grip on the road.

colours available in models:

active:- white, silver, grey, red.
classic:- white, silver, grey, red.
ambiente:- white, silver, grey, red, beige and black.
elegance:- white, silver, red., black.

interior colours:

active/classic:- stone red, stone blue.
ambiente:- style grey.
elegance:- chic (cream or light beige kinda colour), chic night.

I have booked the car in Hyderabad by paying INR 50K.

The Dealer in Hyderabad does not have the car on display.

Looks like some dealers are special than the others to Skoda :-).

Though I have made the booking the only thing that is worrying me is the price. If they price it over 7.5 Lacs for the higher-end diesel(OTR) then I have to look at Fiat Grande Punto that is coming up.
hey . . did u get your skoda fabia ? i have started seeing fabia on the roads its a pleasant site to see these european cars on our indian roads.
