Can you post some photos of the new ZXI LE interiors so that the doubts are clear.

Can someone tell me what mileage the 1.6 Zxi returns when driven at 130-140 speeds on the highways? I used to drive my Indica Turbo easily at those speeds and it used to be a lot of fun. Would still get about 15.5 inspite of that in my old car.rpmx1000
Can you post some pics of the interiors?
If you are going to drive above 130 then please be ready to expect a mileage of 12 - 13 from Fiesta. I got 12 during my recent trip to my native where i was driving at 140+ most of the time. During my initial trip where i maintained the speed below 110km/hr i got 13.5 .

Airbags can deploy even within your living compound if the front hits a pillar or beam at certain angle at certain speed. I had seen the same in some movies. It also need not deploy on a highway crash, again if the angle of hitting varies. Majority of the higher segment vehicles have got airbags, I have seen many crashes on highways, but I dont remember more than two with the airbags out including highspeed crash above 160kmph in the middle east. As far as I understand, airbags have nothing to do with the speed but the intensity of the frontal collision.

My average is 14 kmpl highway drive maintaining between 100-160 kmph, city drive is the worst 12 kmpl. It might improve after the 2nd service and the oil change.

Hi Friends,

It seems there are lots of suggestion and advises are going in this thread. I did wanted to have a Ford Fiesta once. But I was made to draw back my decision due to my friends who told that the maintenance is high. If anyone can honestly tell me exactly what is happening with the maintenance then I do want to re consider my decision for the next change.

Nope, ZXI do not have the Mahogony wooden finish as that of SXi

Someone else could ram into you head on in city driving as well. But spending on airbags is a personal choice. If you can afford it, you should buy it.
Going for a Airbag is purely a personal choice, but it is highly recommended to have one if going on Highways.

There are many threads running on from fiestans inlcuding this one where all fiestans give their experience and opinions. You take your time and read this thread and you will have answers to your questions.

Ford is giving warranty upto 4 years or 1.5lakh Kms (whichever is earlier)
so this covers any expensive spare part changes (if it causes due to accident then the warranty will not cover).

May be when time will come for you consider to take decision for next change to Ford, the situation then may be changed and probably you can see a more customer friendly FORD.

as an Sxi but for the alloys, wood finish on the dashboard and some minor touches. Exchanged my dear old Indica Turbo for a fiesta because of the awesome discounts. Nice to see this thread and I 'll refer back with whatever doubts when I get the car. I expect to get it this Friday or early next week.

I've read about 10 pages of the thread so far, hope to learn a lot more by the time I'm all done.

Differences that I noticed between the Sxi and Zxi LE (Limited Edition)
SXi has these..
1.Airbags
2.Woodpanelled finish on the Sxi
3.The Art-leather seat covers are beige as opposed to the LE which has a greyish finish to these - but I preferred that.
4.Alloy wheels.

Again , wonderful thread and thanks to nairrk for starting it! Hope to be around here a lot more and learn a lot more about this
wonderful car.I hope to keep it for the good part of 8-10 years as buying any bigger car does not make sense in Bangalore.
Cheers,
rpmx1000

Congratulations and good see another proud fiesta owner on the way.

Alloys - you can get it either from Ford accessory or outside.

My car also ZXi, and I bought all accessories from Ford only i.e
-Alloy wheels (similar to the one comes with SXi- see my thread 'my new black ford fiesta' and you will see all accessories which I bought from FORD) and also other accessories like scuff plates, leather floor mat, rubber floor mat, mud flops, boot mat, vinyl leather seat(previous zxi variant comes with beige fabric seat)body side mouldings, chrome door handle (inside) etc.

I have taken TMP, but after seeing the revised spare parts cost and extra warranty you are getting, I will not recommend for it. Go for extended warranty for 3rd and 4th year. It is value for money

My dealer never told any such plan.

Also as per ford manual only it is mentiones as
1- 24 months new vehicle warranty i.e 1lakh km or 24 months whichever comes first
2- 2 year EW i.e 3rd and 4th year or 1.5lakh km whichever comes first.

Besides above, if you are going for TMP what does it covers other than the above
4 year or 1.5L km warranty?
TMP covers all the consumables except Fuel, wear and tear parts except tyres and all the labour charges. For my fusion I had TMP and it was value for money becasue the spare parts of fusion were way costlier at that time. One rear wiper blade was 500+ bucks . Fusion had cladding (Skirt frills, that also was too costly and had a tendancy to fall off pretty easily.)

I visited the dealer again this morning and checked on the interior color which is indeed ebony/black leather.

I got a quote for SXI as well which is Rs.7,69,000 OTR. Dealer giving a discount of 30K in this deal. But again the only color they have got is white. I told them i am willing to wait if thats all it takes to get a different color, but guess what then their would be no offer and to add to it if there is any price change in Jan '10 i got to pay for that too. I think they have got a fixed stock left with them which they are pushing to their customers. I do like white color too, so its not a problem but find it hard to believe their really are no choices even to be considered.

An interesting comment i heard from a second hand car dealer yesterday evening with whom i spoke to about my existing car sale. This lad asked me about which car i am going to buy now. Here he goes "Saar kyo petrol lete ho, diesel lo aur extra 1.5 peti kyo waste karte ho. Ikon lo na 6 ki padegi onroad". Fiesta lena he to diesel lo, baad me bechoge to hatho hath bikegi, petrol ka resale bahot average he". Nothing to buy in his suggestion regarding Ikon as both Fiesta and Ikon are two very different cars. I understand they share the same deisel heart now but still two different cars with different features. However, I really wanted to know if you guys have heard or felt the same about Fiesta petrol resale at your locations? Diesel makes no sense for me as i drive atbest 600 kms a month because my office being only 1.5 km away. Also i plan on keeping this for 4-5 yrs atleast so excellent resale is not something that i am really worried about. Your say on this?

Yes, may be we have now the EW for 3rd and 4th year with totalling 1.5kms, my dealer didnt want to mention about the TMP. It may not be useful to take so many paid warranties at a time?
Thanks

SSP seems like a good option. But I haven't done the math for finding out the viability. Has anybody done this?

When I bought my car, I have not thought about the resale value of the car as I am not going to sell my car in few months. How can one anticipate a car's resale value after 3 or 4 years or even more? Those car's which are getting good resale value in today' market may have a different situation after few years. Similarly those cars are going at low resale rate may pick up later? So why worry about resale value now?

It is advisable to pick a good car available in the market today (subject to your budget)

OK, good choice, but these two have a Price gap of atleast more than 2.6 lacs, you are choosing the middle model of fiesta and the Manual top end model of City, if you have that kind of a budget of around 10 lacs, then there is no confusion at all,

Nairsaab, this is the best post I have seen from your side till today !! Its the same thought and feel I have about my Fiesta too. I will not sell my Fiesta as long as I have enough money to buy food for the family. So Fiesta will remain as a faithful 'driver's car' until there is a RTA rule "only 6 X 4 feet cars are allowed on road" !!
