i think the Base price of all Ford accessories should be constant across all dealers, the only difference being that of State Tax structures.
but still the dealer ends up quoting the accessories on their own.

It is for 4 alloys
Rim size 14 hence only 14" alloys can be fitted (EXi,ZXi annd SXi)

(Only S has got 15" alloys since the Rim size of S is 15")

Yes some are very realistic and they charge only the price charged by the ford plus taxes. Some dealer overcharge. My dealer seems to be quite realistic from the very begining hence I opted to do all accessories through him (and I got original Ford accessories?)

here is the ford vinal leather seatcover (Rs.16100):

Rim-Steel Wheels-Alloy Wheels --> Don't they all mean the same?

I don't think there should be issues in fixing the 15" Alloy wheels except for speedo error, ride height.

Important Note:
1. The SVP comes ONLY with light grey leather interiors. And it will look good ONLY with Black coloured car IMHO. Hence I opted for not SVP car with beige fabric interiors.
2. No AUX in port in the SVP car. That's what the Ford website says and I saw in person. Strange observation - The Music system has the Aux button and even displays "Aux" but the port isn't there to be seen next to the 12V adaptor.
3. Please check if the Insurance, Road Tax etc are reduced accordingly when the ex-showroom price is reduced.
Congratulations. Here in Hyderabad, the dealer first does A-F and then calculates the road tax at 9% of the remainder amount. So, yes, we see an effective reduction of 9% on Rs 60,000.00 given as discount in the road tax amount. When is your car delivery scheduled for?

I checked this with my dealer (as initially I asked for S model alloys) but they said it is not advisable to change the size as it may have problems.
Accordingly, I have opted for SXi model alloys which also 14" size.

Neck Rests for 1.6S

Lathangi Ford, Bangalore, only has Beige colored Neck Rests. I Believe these wouldn't gel well with the Dark interiors of the S. Any suggestions?

Outside, original Stanley neck rests are available at close to 1k for a pair, any feedback on these?

Help!

Hello. Fantastic thread Mr. Nair. Thank you,and apologies for the long post.
I hope this is an appropriate place to ask my questions (Mods: please excuse me if this location is not right and do divert me to the correct thread).
I have a Palio 1.2 and need to upgrade now. I test drove the 1.6S at Bhavna Ford, Santacruz a couple of days ago.
What a car! I had a silly smile on my face for pretty much the whole drive. Just love the whole look, the sporty, "ready to rocket" stance, and boy. what an engine!
I was considering the new SX4, the i20 CRDi, and the Linea apart from the Fiesta and I am sold on the 1.6S! To my mind, its buy it now, or in Feb 2010.

The overall experience at Bhavna was also good. Bhavna Ford looks to be one of the better service centers too. The sales guy did not try to sell me the moon, neither did he push the Zxi for stock clearance sake. He did mention that they have pretty good bookings this month, around 250+. I was at the Showroom / Service center for nearly 2.5 hours and had a long chat with him about service, maintenance issues and the usual "high cost of maintenance" thingy. Ford seems to have woken up to address these issues now. A few things he mentioned:
  • Apart from minor cosmetic changes, and an engine tweak for the BSIV norms, no major changes to the Fiesta in 2010.
  • For 2010, Ford will be focused on the Figo. Sales staff will be on a a training program from 15th - 25th Dec.
  • There is a plan only, to re-launch the Mondeo with a 1.8L engine, pricing upwards of Rs.16L. Can't say how reliable this info is.
  • There may be a small price hike in Jan 2010, but no official word as yet.
Regarding prices and discounts for the 1.6S:

Ex - Showroom Mumbai: Rs. 750477
Life tax: Rs 59733
Insurance: Rs 30223
Depot Charges: Rs 2000
3rd year/20K kms warranty: Rs 5530
Total: Rs. 847963
Discount on OTR Price: Rs 35000
Net: Rs. 812963
Additional Option: 2+2 years/1.5L km warranty: Rs 9980
Car will have underbody anti-rust done by Ford (???). Do car companies do this, or is it the dealer who does this at extra?
Exchange bonus of Rs 10,000 in case I exchange my Palio.
A verbal offer to give floor mats, mud flaps and small accessories like idol and perfume in this deal.
Schemes are controlled by Ford and not by the dealer, therefore he cannot extend the cash discount beyond Rs 35k.
Applicable till 13th Dec 2009, subject to stock availability.
Car will be a Nov 2009 manufactured model, if I book within 13th Dec.

Does this seem OK? Is the discount normally on the OTR price or the Ex - showroom price?
I intend to keep the car for 5 years, so I am not too concerned about the Nov or Dec 2009 issue, considering that the discount now, may offset any potential re-sale value loss because of Mfg. year.

However, does one need to be concerned, in any way, about the BS norms, or Euro norms, since the existing engine is BSIII. I do remember a mention of this in one of the earlier posts on this thread.
I am a little confused abt whether this deal seems to be good enough. The car is a beauty...just can't wait to get my hands on her.

Ford provides only beige neck rests and pillows. The neck rest will definitely look odd in the S. I did get the pillows though. They are kept in the rear parcel shelf and they look cool! If you want the neck rest, get dark colored ones from outside.

@satya79

First of all nice decision of opting a ford fiesta as your next car.

Your queries:

Insurance Rs.30233 is tooo high ( actually insurance is a free offer from FORD however since they are giving the cash discount of Rs. 35000, the dealer may be charging such high insurance). When I bought my ZXi, 2 months back, the insurance premium they paid (it was free offer from ford) Rs.17,666 (from Bajaj Allianz). So for your add another Rs.1000, but it should not be Rs.30233 as given by your dealer.

Ask him whether you can take the insurance ?

Depot Charges Rs.2000 (why -what for this?)

Ford free warranty for 2 years or 1lakh kms
additional 3rd and 4th year or 1.5Lakhs kms Extra warranty costs not more than
Rs.8500/- ( I paid Rs.8300 and got a reciept from FORD)

Ask him to give the discount from the showroom price (so that you can save some money on road tax) as have seen some dealers are doing this.

The deadline of 13th december is something cannot digest - why this deadline?
does this mean that the offer will not be there after 13th december or there may be some different offer expected from FOrd after 13th DEc?

Fantastic choice! I bought an S a month ago and it's been a dream.

I don't know how you can possibly wait till Feb after having sampled the goods. Buy it right away. lol. There is a price hike in Jan and the discounts will be gone as well.

Frankmehta has been saying good things about Bhavna Ford as well.

You have to do this as an extra. Adjust the cost against your corp discount.

This is nothing to worry about.

It's just a marketing technique. Nothing wrong with it. There may or may not be another offer after the 13th. I doubt there will be one as most of the stock appears to have been cleared.

BS IV norms come into effect April, 2010 in 10 cities in India [NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Surat, Kanpur and Agra]. Which means that BS III or lower emission rate vehicles will not be registered in those cities. However, the new regulation only applies to first time registration of a new vehicle. It does not apply to re-sale of existing vehicles.

Following are my Suggestions for you, as i was also in the same league:

1. The Individual discount which Ford is offering is on the OTR and not the Ex showrrom, however if you are working in any Corporates, ask for the corporate discount as it is quite good and is calculated on the Ex showroom (hence will be more beneficial)

2. Its a nice offer from Ford, because definitely there will be a price hike in Jan 2010 and in case not, then too there is one thing definite that there is certainly not such good discounts in Jan 2010

Rest is your Choice.

@nairrk,
this is so because as per the website: india.ford.com, this scheme on ZXI is ending on 13th december, but no reference of S, may be some marketing gimmick or confusion.

They want to sell as many as number of cars before end of December.
So, inorder to boost the sale they are announcing an offer only upto certain period. And thereafter they may come with different kind of offer.
imo, these offer magic will be there till end of dec-may be couple of days in Jan?

Guys, I have been reading about this free insurance offer from Ford all over..please note that at any point in time, there is only one discount offer going..so if it was free insurance in say Oct/Nov, now it is upto 35K-75K discount offer in Dec depending on the variant Z/SXi or S.

@Satya, pls double check the ex-showrom price..seems pretty high. Check my post http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post1623250

My breakup here in Chennai for SXi is as follows (same applies for S also)
Ex Showroom: Before 4th Dec : 708000/- Post this 75K ad splashed all across by Ford, the ex-showroom is discounted by 35K, i.e, now it is 673000/-

Now add LifeTime Road Tax @8% on ex-Showroom in Chennai (53840/-) + 1500/- Road Safety Tax + Regn Charges of appx 6500/-(which is high) - the price comes to
673000+61790=734790/-. Add to this appx 17-20K Insurance if you take it on your own. This gives me a Chennai OTR of around 755K.

If you have a existing Ford vehicle and you are retaining the same, you can claim 3rd Year Extended Warranty Free as per loyalty bonus..if you are selling the same, you can claim 10K exchange bonus.

IMHO, regarding all this antirust/exterior coating/essential pack accessories like mat etc try not adding it at the time of booking and do it post delivery on your own outside.
