Yes in todays market one should not plan about resale if he is going to keep the car for more than 3 years,
that is what i also calculated before planning for fiesta
i asked myself a question: Will I be selling a car in 2-3 years?
Nope, came the reply, so am 100% sure of keeping the car for atleast 5 years, and here comes my decision of going for fiesta in Dec2009 rather than my planned purchase in Jan2010,

Of all the sedans I considered and Td'ed, these were the only two I liked. The price gap is 3.2 lacs OTR between the two. We chose the middle version of Fiesta as it has everything we need in our new car. If we go for Fiesta, I think I'll give a good thought about SXi version too. Airbags are very important feature in SXi. There is a problem with color availability here in Hyderabad. I liked Moondust silver but they do not have that color at both the showrooms.

If I wait till Jan, I lose the fabulous offer, the road tax in AP is going to go up to 12% from the existing 9%. And then there is a possibility of car price hike as well. So, I will lose a good amount in that.

Kalyan, if you decide on the Fiesta, buy the SXi only. It's worth it. What colors are available in Hyd?

At:
Fortune Ford:
ZXi: Diamond White, Panther Black and Platinum

Mody Ford:
SXi: Diamond White, Panther Black and Morello
ZXi: Panther Black

Mody guy said if I am adamant on Moondust Silver or any other color, he can try to get one before the end of this month, but the same cannot be guaranteed.

I am particular about getting the delivery/ invoice by the end of this month as there is a definite hike(by 3%) in the road tax here in AP.

Possibly the dealers may not order for new car's unless they clear the stock in their yard. So it all depends how fast your dealer can sell those units and then try to get
new cars from Ford and as such he can get a moondust silver for you. This may the reason behind his words 'can try to get one before the month end, but same is not guaranteed' ?

Another Fiesta Owner in the list:

-vijayb --- 1.6--- LTD edition

Will update the Full list once those members ( i.e. ruchirtnt, souravdesbiswas, rpmx1000 and sajnayc -who have already booked fiesta's), taking delivery of their car's.

@vijayb

Thanks for you PM
and also Welcome to the Team
Hope you will enjoy here

You have a Fiesta 1.6 Ltd edition which already done 2000 kms.

Now it is time for you to give a write up about the test drive and ownership experience alongwith some photographs of your proud possession, the Fiesta.!

Absolutely sir, but I also put the word in his ear that if I do not get the car delivered by the year end, I will drop the booking/ purchase. If I end-up waiting, I shall wait until mid of March, 2010 to see the new BS IV model(s).

Booked Ford Fiesta 1.6 ZXi (Morello)

Price
(+) A. Ex-showroom Chennai - Rs.6,48,000
(+) B. Insurance - Rs. 24,366
(+) C. Reg/Road Tax - Rs. 61,570
(+) D. Basic Accessories - Rs. 5,250
(+) E. Opt Leather Seats - Rs. 5,000
(-) F. Discount - Rs. 60,000
(-) G. Exchange Bonus - Rs. 10,000 (-) H. Existing Ford Cust (3rd Year Extended Warranty Free)- Rs. 5,000
Final Price [(A+B+C+D)-F] -Rs.6,79,186

Important Note:
1. The SVP comes ONLY with light grey leather interiors. And it will look good ONLY with Black coloured car IMHO. Hence I opted for not SVP car with beige fabric interiors.
2. No AUX in port in the SVP car. That's what the Ford website says and I saw in person. Strange observation - The Music system has the Aux button and even displays "Aux" but the port isn't there to be seen next to the 12V adaptor.
3. Please check if the Insurance, Road Tax etc are reduced accordingly when the ex-showroom price is reduced.

@kiku007

When I bought my car ZXi,
For Rs.6.48L ex show room price, it was Rs.17,666/- (comprehensive) and the Insurance taken from BA (this was arranged by my dealer and a free offer from FORD).

Leather seats at Rs.5000/-, seems the dealer is going to get something from the market? ( as the FORD vinyl leather seat costs around Rs.10000/-) - see my car leather seats which I got fixed from the ford dealer.

Since they are giving you a discount of Rs.60k, other charges seems increased by them?

Its nice, Leather vinyl seats for only 10k, even the alloys of ford are cheaper than any other sedan at around 20k whereas the city costs 35k

That's quite a difference on the insurance. Let me check on it. Thanks.

Leather seats - Believe me. You really don't want that dull looking grey leather seats on ur car if it's any colour other than black!

HI Nairrk,
The five star alloys looks very good for the ford. Seems the alloys price also seems reasonable. Is the price mentioned is for set of 4 or 5. Pl mention the rim size too I mean 15 or 17
