Nairsaab, I heard Ford India is going to fire around 100 salaried consultants from their various offices after finding you giving FREE 24/7 Fiesta consultantancy online.

Now I know what I need to do if I ever start an automobile manufacturing unit, I should give you a complimentary car and do no commercial advertisements !

People who own a Fiesta will understand the addiction one can have to their machine, those who have not driven a Fiesta for atleast 15 mts in their life is missing out something big. GO FIDA !!!

So how about you recommending Ford to give the salary of atleast one
consultant for promoting their cars

And when you start an automobile manufacturing company, do let me know - so that I can apply for a job -?

I asked this question as well before. Not possible. Shaju may be planning some DIY.

All Fiestas have an immobilizer.

Called up Chennai Ford before I saw your last post ..they repeated what you said. Only difference is MPL is willing to give the 10K upfront but CF wants to go thru the normal cheque route.
You seem to have built up a good rapport at CF. Why not stick with them. On the other thread you mentioned that MPL brought a customer's car for a TD. What if your car goes for a TD next.

@shaju

Eventhough your cash cow died, there seems plenty of money (all seems in dollar currency) remaining in the buckets - You can buy one more new fiesta and so many other things? LOL

Thats what i told the salesguy at the Ford Dealer, that there is one site which is promoting your Fiesta more than your entire sales team and other promotional tools, and to be specific there are certain guys (fiestians) who are contributing a lot. Ford must pay some royalty at least.

Resurgence of the Fiesta

Anyone has any comments as to how and why such a resurgence of the Fiesta? If you look at Fiesta related posts in T-BHP posts that are 6-8 months old and maybe older, not much talk about the Fiesta bar a few ownership experiences.

Was it that due to bad *** concerns, people just shut out the Fiesta from their list of vehicles? Cant help but ask - now everyone is just so ga ga about the driveability/handling of the Fiesta. Mileaga of the 1.6 Petrol is also much talked about and appreciated. Is it that not many had realised these factors before?

As for me, I did test drive the Fiesta in 2005-2006 timeframe, but then I drove the 1.4 Petrol, which I did not really like. And for the 1.4 TDCI, I had a prejudice that it is way too underpowered - till I did drive it and eventually ended up owning it :-).

All owners and non-owners- you welcome to share your thoughts on what changed- for the Fiesta.

Fiesta offers more vfm now and people are more aware of it now. The ZXi is incredibly specd for it's price.

I still feel that the 1.4 TDCi SXi has scope for price reduction.

Yes, the Major Benefit is the VFM tag,
at such a price tag. this is a machine with all the features like: Airbag, ABS, EBD (talking about top variant)
these all features in other machines costs a ton more than, loke SX4 costing 1.5 lac more. city 2.5 lac more, Verna 1 lac more (that too without Airbags)

remote boot Lid open is a good feature in fiesta, this feature in available in Accord model only and not in any other models of Honda.

an update on the transition gap (between the order and the delivery)
Went yesterday to make 30% payment to Dealer (already made 50%), as the dealer told me that he wants most of the payment before delivery (being a corporate discount order)
The dealer had given me an expected date of 24th december, which is now postponed to 30th december, Dont know how much time will he take,
if he takes more time than that, ill reconsider my decision again.

Well, I always thought Fiesta was a great car to drive and with respect to the features it possessed, perhaps a bit over-priced when it started to sell. The only issue at that point I guess was the most talked about Fords bad *** and high spare part costs.

Its been a long journey since then. Most of the parts are now manufactured in the Chennai plant. As a result, the maintenance cost of Fiesta has come down sharply. The *** has improved in leaps and bounds and looks like the they(Ford and its dealers) have now put their bad reputation with customers at bay.

I see almost 25-30 Fiesta's on my way to office everyday(its about 6.5 Kms of travel).

Exactly my thoughts too. When I was out looking for a car for dad, 1.4 TDCI SXI was slightly above 9.0 Lakhs OTR. I couldnt fathom paying that much for a Fiesta especially when Linea diesel top end was also available around the same price point (maybe 20k more). Not that Linea is a better car, but Linea seemed more VFM with its new in the market feel and actually looks like a segment higher than what it actually is.

Look at this Ford Ikon with same engine available at 6lakhs OTR and low end Fiesta diesel was at 8 lakhs OTR 3months ago (maybe slightly less). Fiesta dint seem VFM for me until the Limited Edition offer came and we further bargained and closed it at 7.21 lakhs from 7.40 lakhs OTR (LE offer price). So yeah, Diesel needs some price reduction especially when Figo also with the same TDCI engine will be launched in the 4.5 - 5.5 lakhs range(estimates).
