More than Civic, we liked the Altis but then decided to stick with City, for the primary reason that we wanted to limit ourselves to the 10 L budget.

Today evening, I got a call from the dealer, telling me that, they got a customer because of me. It seems, some one had went to showroom and told that he/she is my friend and then started negotiating the same discounts that I got.

Now, coming to the point which I would like to raise here. I have told the offers which I got for my car in the forum for the benefit of those who are planning to purchase. But then, I am not sure whether it is correct for others to refer a name and then claim some benefits because so and so person got the same offer.

I would like to know the view points of others in this. My view point is , if I am going to take the reference of some one else to a particular showroom, first thing I would do is get in touch with the person and ask him whether it is ok to take his name as reference.

BHPians, what do you guys feel on the same ? Is it ok if any x and y can take your name and negotiate for deals ? or do you think the person has to be contacted and enquired as to whether he is ok with doing such a stuff ?

Hey Cherian

Congrats and all the very best for your new ANHC. It should have been quite a journey from 2003 in a indigo to 2009 to an ANHC.

Its very bad on the person's part whoever did this by refereing your name without informing you. Did you find out who is this from the dealer ? Are you sure you have told about the discounts within this forum only?

However, " It takes all type to make the world" , so i would say forget this and enjoy your car man !

By the way , welcome to the ANHC family.

keep posting & keep in touch.

IMHO, I feel that the person should definitely be contacted before his name is used as a reference.

Well, I have the name but am not sure whether he is a BHPian. I have posted the discount details only on TBHP and hence would assume that he is a BHPian.

The real issue is , as I had mentioned, there is no free insurance on V model, but then I decided to forgo my corporate discount and then the dealer was ready to give the insurance at a reduced rate (by chipping in some cash discount).
Now, this person talked to other dealerships too, referring my name that I got so and so discount and this has upset the understanding between dealerships.
What he really didn't know is that even though my offer was a free insurance, it was the result of a cash discount and a corporate discount which I didn't claim as such.

Anyways, no hard feelings, but then it would have been nice if I was consulted before taking my name to the dealership.

Let me forget this one sore point and start enjoying my ANHC.

Oh yes, tomorrow is a weekend, a saturday and my beauty is waiting to be clicked. Her first photoshoot..
