^^ Is this your first diesel vehicle? Diesels have huge low end torque and the tuning of the engine would such that the vehicle would chug along rather than stall when you take your leg off the A pedal. It just requires some time to getting used to.

Do not worry about the issues discussed here and enjoy your car, we are here after having some nice long drives to different locations AND also discuss the negatives of the car. There is no point in sweating about the issues which you most probably do not have.

And do not use Turbojet or any other such premium diesels, it is just plain diesel from any reputed (preferable COCO pump) always. Enjoy your car!

IOCL works well for me. I think the brand does not play any role and is the quality of fuel. Seems HP, BP are good in some places as IOCL is better here. I have a good BP station near by and want to try 4 to 5 fills.

Better not to leave the tank dry (to avoid dust accumulation & nozzle clog). Is there a fuel filter change during the 3rd service @ 20k.

As Anil says it is the time for you to enjoy the new car and the niggles highlighted are just inconveniences.

I noticed something today (never noticed earlier due to various reasons) with my AC:

When I changed the switch from outside air to recircultation, the air speed increased. Earlier I used to use fan speed at 1, today it was at 3 - at 1 also now I can notice some difference (it is very small) earlier I couldn't detect any difference at all.

I think this is a standard feature of all car A/C systems. Same would happen in my old Zen, and in all other cars I have owned/driven in US & Europe.

The wipers aren't available at Siliguri, I asked a friend who was coming from Delhi to check out if he can bring the wipers.

He stays at Dwarka and most probably, went over to Astro Ford. They were asking somewhere around Rs. 550 as well as Rs.100 to open a job-card.

Got it replaced by spending Rs. 120 over here.

No Anil this is not First Disel vehicle I am driving, I use to Drive our TATA 1210 SE Truck occasionally in 80s just for fun but its all together different beast and driving was restricted to lonely roads only. Yes I am driving Diesel Car for First time for routine commute in city road conditions. First of all I am not acquainted with bigger size of Figo compared to M800 and engine characteristics are also different. I am just trying to explore it on factors like how it accelerates, how it chugs in slow moving city traffic etc. etc.

I am not at all worried or doubtful that car has any problems but I am trying to accelerate my learning process. Day by day i am getting habituated to it and I can use now 2nd gear as you guys have mentioned with help of clutch and breaks without stalling it. I think in another weeks time I will be able to drive it in city as I used to drive M800. On highways I could drive it at home.

Well I have to search for COCO pump but the HP pump where usually used to do tank full M800, is owned by a Trust Trustee who spends 25% of the profit to charity, as per signboard put there. I have experienced smoothness in engine sound and increased pickup when filled petrol in my M800 at that pump for last decade. I will continue Filling diesel at that Pump.

I am finding Audio manual to be bit difficult to understand, it may be provided by Audio OEM. I have not started reading Figo manual yet. I will surely post my opinion on that later.

Thanks to both of you. I am enjoying car no doubts. I feel that its really pleasant to drive on highways. I think Gemi has perfectly named it as "Mile Cruncher" there was absolutely no fatigue when we drove it from Pune to Kolhapur (250 KM), immediately after delivery.

Since earlier Titanium and ZXI versions have provisions for rear fog lamps in switch can we request Ford to offer rear foglamps as accessory to those owners.

Oh good if there are rear fog lamps then My figo will definitely get one pair of those. Previously whenever I inquired Ford A.S.S guys said there is no holder for the same. This should change matters for the same.

The 6 speed intermittent wiper is given the boot too, replaced by 3 speed one. Was going through Ford website checking out the change in specs.

I used it for brake lights, but you can also use it for fog lamps

They could have provided the programmable intermittent wiper as in the ikon (programmable from 5-25 secs). How much more would that cost? :(

I discovered a small problem with my figo today.
When I change gear basically 1-2-3 there is a squeak that is heard.
This is not present when I shift down only when I shift up. Also happens when mostly I am in a hurry. I am sure it is not from the gearbox or anything like that. I mean seems to be some small problem to me (cos I need to concentrate to hear the noise but it is there).

Has anybody faced such a problem ?

Thanks. For Fog, It has to be connected to the positive of the reverse light and negative (which is always black). Correct if I am wrong.

By any chance did you downshift without pressing the clutch fully (sometimes we tend to do). Try also without starting the engine and also in idle.

No RGK. I tried it many times. I do not change the gears without the clutch. Anyways I concentrate and slot the gear (with clutch obviously) and leave the gear with a jerk and squeal or squeak is heard.

I am doubting the engine mount. I think i will ask the A.S.S guys to reset the engine mounts or atleast check it out.

Must be just the gear cables. Check that first before going to the mounts.
