Need some help? If you so gearlust to get one; let me know if you are ready to get a TN one and drive around after paying the KA tax... but thats only if you are so adamant. Else, walk around 3 showrooms inside blore and also chk mysore and keep the salesguys handy. You may endup with one 'ellow' one soon. Just pay the OTR to the showroom/applicant, 2-3K extra chai/kaapi to the sales man.

Hello,
As a new Nano owner, I have a concern and query. Have you sorted out the steering column fire issues that were reported in 2009 last few months?
Example
http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/bus...ll_420192.html
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/b...ow/5147333.cms

My nano is a Feb-2010 model. Has the necessary changes been made by TATA to ensure nothing like above occurs again?
Let me know if you need more details. My car Regn# is TN30-… My dealer is True Sai, Salem, TamilNadu. Do you need the engine and chassis number also?
Thanks
Santosh SV

First of all, congrats for the Nano. Its raining Nanos at T-BHP. That was a prompt reply(2 days!) by the customer care. It seems many folks are not interested to take the Nano after booking. I too hope to find one such for myself at the Delhi Dealerships.

Congrats man. I too got a lunar silver nano, painted the black bumpers same as body color since the bumpers looked ugly.

One thing which is annoying is the engine sound which is similar to autorickshaw. Is it possible to fix it to change the sound.

Yep, very much on the cards. Am waiting for the engine to setin a bit more. May end up with a FFRA, or a more muffled silencer.

nanoMania Continues - Underbody pics

Ok, lots of underbody pics coming up here.

Points to note

1) All 4 gas shocks.
2) All 4 independent Suspension.
3) Achilles heel - Low slung A/C piping. Being a jeeper - skid plate on the mind already...
4) Is it me (jeeper), or does the nano look like a Body on Chassis construction?
5) Note the steering-system setup inside the hood.

Great pics sir. You showed us the nano from the angles its never been seen earlier.
I have a small query about my nano. Whenever i switch on the ignition, there is initial sound of fuel pump, which i know is OK but even after the engine is started there is slight hissing sound, something like a very low frequency continuous humming that exists. Do you hear anything like that in your car??

Oh I totally forgot, along with the sound of the pump, the speedo goes down a CM and comes up, I wonder why

Hmm. It must be normal. I hear so many noises, I am sure its nothing complicated. How many Kms you have completed?
