Of course i am interested to know your a.s.s. experience and mileage in the city!!

And personally i really like this colour of your fabia
every engine makes noise, well this engine is made by VAG (Volkswage Audi Group) which is one of the top selling and popular car company in world.

well as i have written before the 3 potter has a little clatter outside but once inside the car with doors shut the noise is very well insulated.
you should test drive the car yourself to see degree of noise and if you are comfortable with it on the inside, as i am more that comfortable with it. rather i'd say its just like any other car on the inside.

i haven't yet taken note of the mileage.

the after sales & service till now has been exceptional, from timely fulfillment of commitments to truthfulness.
And one thing thanks for your time and compliments.
hope i can help you in every way possible.

Two questions:
Since the Fabia already has projector lenses built in to the headlamp cluster, how hard is it to replace the standard halogen bulbs with a xenon set up?
Is it the same engine as fitted in the Polo?

dear khan75, projector headlamps are only offered on the top of line elegance model so no info on that,
as for the engine, i think it may be the same engine but then it has been re-tuned in Polo.

Congrats Aviral. I did check out my colleague's Fabia which was bought last week.

The car is of course roomy and solidly built.

Enjoy many more happy miles. Damn taxes in Bangalore everything is costly here. Huh

Nice car. Did you have the option of two tone beige/black interiors?

after civic, merc, i didn't even bother asking for beige/black interiors, because beige has the tendancy to look dirtier if not maintained.
update: clocked 100 on odo today.

Skoda Dance

update: clocked 150 on odo today, and i think the brakes seem to have gotten better, the fact that I earlier stated "the brakes are only adequate" no longer seems to imply.
until now i had only listed to stereo on FM, never tested a cd, but today after listening to a audio cd i can definitely say that audio is rich, clear, crisp, bass is clean and tight at low and medium volumes, but distorts at high volumes, maybe adding components at rear and then shifting the fader to rear will make sound system even better, I think OEM audio system has plenty of potential which is unused.
anyone with any ideas for rear speakers, on brand model, size?
anyone with DIY for the same?

You've hardly run the car in. My Octy had a new clutch, suddenly after 200km, it has blossomed!

Congrats. Its a great car. I have the same model, same color. Done about 1 year and 8000+ happy kms on it.

Touchwood. No issues so far. Still drives like on day 1. It has changed my perception about 'car servicing'. After having a maruti for ages, which felt it needed a 'service' every 2 to 3 months, it was an uneasy feeling to not having to see the service station for a good 1 year !

A suggestion from my side: To get the best performance from the 1.2 motor, use at least speed petrol.
It gets the best out of the engine and hopefully the low rpm jerks are not there.
The mid range is pretty strong, but gets better after the running period.

I would still rate the fabia as having the best quality interior plastics, fit and finish of a premium hatchback followed by Jazz, I 20, polo and punto in that order.

Its a 1198cc, 3 cylinder, 12V DOHC with 70ps@5400 rpm and 108 NM torque@3000 rpm.
0-100 comes in about late 15s.
Sid,
The service center recommends only regular unleaded petrol fuel in the Fabia.
No 'speed' to be used unless you have no other option.

plush interiors!!
exception legroom is simply unbelievable.
boot space is also great!
The steering is very different than what used to come in last year's models !

Due to the curve/shape of the front seats, the rear leg room is very good. Most cars have it flat.

The boot is good to hold 3 large suitcases plus change !

Refinement is a tad lower than the 4 cyl models, esp the K Series.
But drivability is v good. Much better than other cars 3rd gear onwards.

And the dynamics and handling make it an awesome package.

No issues with the 'cold engine'. Only the first gear seems a tad 'underpowered' where you need to push a bit.

Mileage depends on various driving factors (more so on the traffic). I get 11-12 kmpl in Mumbai traffic with A/c full time.

NVH insulation within the cabin is much better than most hatchbacks.

Two tone is for Ambient and Elegance trims.
Not in Active or Classic.

The clutch does have a lot of travel. Some people may not like it.
But yes, it has stayed as good and soft like on day 1 after a year/8k on the ODO.

Congrats again. Drive safe.

Today's TOI (Chennai edition) has an article that lists the Fabia 1.2 HTP as one of the cars that is being phased out from April 1st (Link). This thread also tells the same. Were you told by the dealer that this will be so when you bought the car?

The Skoda site still lists Fabia, so am guessing the car will still be sold out of the 13 cities identified for BSIV.

although dealer did not inform me about this, my internet research gave me a slight idea of an engine upgrade for fabia sometime midyear with the facelift, it surely didn't bother me because i liked the car as it was and this is not our primary/luxury car also.

Skoda will probably start using VW polo engines post BS IV norms. The same 1.2 petrol makes 75ps in Polo. I am not sure if the 1.2 Diesel can be accomodated in the Fabia bay but that might work.

the skoda website says that the current diesel fabia meets emission norms for EURO 4, so that should sum it up for now.

update clocked 200kms on odo today and noticed one thing- the in gear acceleration is really very very awesome.
driving the car in city is absolute delight, the gear change requirements are very minimal, the car pulls really well from low speeds even in 4th gear (haven't tested the 5th yet).

I yet again stress that the engine response and pull is extremely strong in 2000 - 3000 rpm levels.

Is it something that only I notice? i haven't heard/read anyone else commenting on the same.
