Pics

Here are a few pics, sorry for the bad quality. I thought my samsung phone cam (which they claim to be 5 MP) would suffice and didn't bother to take my digi cam along, but looks like it didn't do a good job. Will soon upload better pics from my digi cam.

It doesnt look nice you being harsh on both me and Tata (by saying "continues to make rotten cars"). I do respect your view or opinion on Tata cars. But, that should be put as your "opnion", but NOT like "a fact".

On your recommendation to test my Safari - Thanks and I will do so when I feel so.

One simple thing that we all like to follow in public forums like this and I am sure all/most of senior folks and mods would agree - One need not accept others' view or opinion. But, should definitely respect that.

Prem.
Can you explain to us why your personal opinion is that ABS should not work from Day 1 and what happens if you happen to need ABS on that particular day?

You have to remember that personal opinions are subjective. How a car works is Objective - if its subjective and decides when to stop or when to start depending on its mood, then it really doesnt count being a machine now, does it? So your personal opinion on how a car works or how ABS works or doesnt has to be objective for the benefit of all members here.

This may be moved to a new thread if the technical discussion that ensues requires that.

My quip on TATA and how they make their cars remains just that - a quip.

I, however, apologise for being harsh on you I ought to get to know you better before I do that

Congratulations on a very practical choice Guru bhai !

Vista with a QJD engine is a great VFM and offers huge space, nice choice of colour.

Hey, whats HS number plates? Can you shed some light on it?

Mods, quite a bit, following is what i have done so far

1) Sun Film including windscreen.
2) Added a pair of JBL oval rear speakers (400 watts) on a plank and used the AMP i had from my old car.
3) The best part, upgraded the tyres to Apollo 185 65 R 14 Plati alloys, will post the pics soon.

Nice pictures, the car looks really good.
The Vista's proportions seem to work well. I think this too as a design will age well.

I too checked the car today. It came as a surprise, its far far improved from the earlier Tata models. The colour is just amazing.

I found a odd fiber and plastic smell when I sat in the car, so wanted to know how is the interior quality, I was checking out other models as well but didn't get this smell.

I liked the space, I think its one of the best in the class, it really makes you feel like driving a bigger compact car like Polo or Fabia.

The politeness of Tata showroom guys was just great. They gave me more inputs on the banking options also.

The fibre and plastic smell can be because of the plastic polish some workshops use. The Vista is a huge step up for Tata and is a very capable car.
I keep repeating myself, but I honestly think that the Tata-Fiat partnership is a perfect match. See their range of cars:

a. Nano b. Indica V2 c. Vista d. Punto e. Manza f. Linea.
(Deliberately didn't add the Indigo CS, Palio etc. )

This showroom has everything from Rs.1.5 lakh - Rs.10lakh

The total cost for a set of five plati alloys and apollo tyres (185 65 R 14) was somewhere around 36 k, but i exchanged my company fitted wheels for 10.5 k. So effectively it costed me 25.5 k.
