New Custom Hub Caps

Hi all,

3 weeks before when I was doing the wheel rotation for my Padmini, I had checked the size of its hub cap with the Punto's wheel, as I had removed the original wheel covers. They were perfect fit, so waited for my exams to finish and today had been to JC road to get the new set of Hub-Caps for Padmini. Then removed the "MP" badge and stuck the "FIAT" badge from the wheel covers with FeviQuik.

here are the pictures, no PUNTO like mine now

Chittoor Trip JULY 2010

hi all,

yet an other memorable trip in my Punto. My holidays are going one and my Kerala Trip got cancelled, so was waiting to take my Punto somewhere. So I became my uncle's official driver for an industrial visit to Chittoor.

Mileage: 19-20KMpL
Speed : 80-110KMpH
Tl. Dist.: 360KM

The previous night of the trip I saw clear sky and started cleaning mt Punto and made it chamak-chamak , but when we started our journey at 7am the next day, it was raining, till Kolar. When we took a stop for break-fast, my car had turned brown.

The tyre noise is very annoying, so loud at times that you can't hear the music nor your fellow passengers

The pictures as usual narrate the story better

Superb pictures there. The rains will get the car dirty pretty soon even with a small drive. 360 kms its not that dirty, you should be happy with it. Go to mangalore and the coastal region, you will see your car even more colorful

Actually the car is a lot dirtier than it appears in the pictures. I was clicking with Vivid colors modes, so the brighter colors are more prominent.

WOW! Stunning pics Sujith1100.

My Punto looks stunning with these plastic wheel caps. Are they easily available?

The plastic hubs are, but not the FIAT logos, as I ripped them from the original Wheel-covers of my car.

Hi Sujith,

Great pictures.
I'm also getting similar FE figures always ACC on, temp set @ 20-22.
Bangalore - Mysore- Gundalpet-Gudallur-Nilambur-Perinthalmanna FE was 21.5+ (Under sedate driving conditions)

Return

Perinthalmanna-Nilambur-gudallur-Gundalpet-Mysore-Bangalore (It was raining till Ramnagara) heavy rain, traffic, bad roads(Perinthalmanna -Nilambur) till gudallur and a bit of spirited driving. Max speed 110 but mostly cruising @ 100 FE was 18.7

Really impressed with FE figures.

Things I dont like in Punto
Music System (Sister's new WagonR comes with a way better OE stereo)- Is it worth upgrading the speakers?
Sligtly messed up ergonomics
Plastics - Glove Box, the plastic Fuel lid opener and fuel tank lid, boot opener and plastic panels on bonnet.

Things I like
Rest everything

Hello BMW-X5,

1. Music system, its pretty good till Vol. level 15, beyond that its annoying. Even I thought about changing the speakers, but i enjoy the sound of the Engine more . Consult some one good in the auto-electricals and go ahead. I don't take much interest in entertainment systems in car.

2. Ergonomics: I do agree, example is the recliner-lever, its so close to the door panels that my hand get stuck in-between. Same with clutch foot-rest.

3. Plastic quality is actually not the issue here. The finish in the product and mis-fitting/mis-alignment of components is issue. For fuel-lid I prefer a metal one rather than a plastic cap.

Upgrading the speakers, surely helps a lot and especially if you can get the amplifier its much much better.

Has any one updated speakers? I have seen not so good reviews from Anshuman and Amit after upgrading the speakers. Is it worth investing close to 10K for 4 component speakers? I'm confused !

1.I did not get a DEMO car.

2.We have 3 Punto's in our friend circle bought at different times, all have same quality fit and finish.

Good, I hope you get adjusted soon to a few issues like all of us PROUD PUNTERS
Ignore the plastics, they are of good quality(Not Superior though) only problem is the mis-fit or mis-alignments and Mold-wastage[The extra thin piece of plastic from edges].

Happy FIATing
