Your talking of a 4 cylinder engine with a 3 cylinder one. The 1.1 is more refined any day and has better low rpm torque for city.

Performance wise I would think they are very close although i drove a 1.1 only once.

The Vx1.1 was a Pocket Rocket as someone has mentioned earlier in the forum and I feel that the K10 would be a worthy sucessor to the Vx1.1

Haven't seen a single k10 on the roads yet in bangalore!!
As feared, this seems to be a slow mover off the shelves.

I managed to spot one in white near Bellandur.
Are they readily available off the shelves, or is there a waiting, as is the norm with any Maruti car these days?

I have been seeing minimum of 3-4 Alto K10's daily (Jayanagar, Banashankari, J.P.Nagar areas). What surprises me the most is, Almost 2 out 4 Alto K10's spotted are of white color! I even check registrations (Ka-.....) to make sure Am not spotting the same car again and again. Must add, Alto K10 looks stunning in white!

Had a look at the Alto K10 ; I do not understand the ga ga.... by which the people are praising it. Only the Engine is changed, rest is more or less the same except for cosmetic changes.

Maruti would have been better off by discontinuing this model and pricing the A Star near this model.

Nothing spectular about this model....in my opinion. The A Star is definately built more solidly.

Alto K10 reminds me a lot of the original Alto VX that shared the engine with the WagonR did not have a chance to drive the Alto K10 but i hear its as much as the old VX to drive but with better FE.

The sad part is the added cost ohh well, hopefully some options for airbags and ABS comes by soon maybe even a automatic "Saw a review of a automatic ritz or something on TV seemed good enough"

Same here in Chennai - have till date spotted only 1 white K10. Spotted a couple in Kerala during Onam time which was surprising because I had thought I would see more in Chennai than in Kerala.

No waiting as I understand it. When I did a TD, the sales guy was like "Sir, book one at the earliest, else it will go on a 1-month waiting list". I think stocks are readily available and I don't think this car will go on a WL.

The engine is the change. Drive one and you will know. I do agree that the rest is more or less the same.

I think this is probably where the inspiration for new tail lamp came from for the new Alto as well as the Scorpio

I thought the shape is quite similar to the original Palio tailight.

Not really, this is how the original Palio's tail lamp looked

I guess the 'Malabaris' find the k10 attractive. I see atleast one k10 a day in northern Kerala.

Yup, remember v.well. Story goes that the shape was inspired by a deep. (ie the flame of the lamp)

As said, the engine makes all the difference. Both the zip and the AC are way ahead of the Alto.

A Star looks bulky, while K10 looks sleek, and there is the extra you pay for A Star which does not really offer all that much (I am comparing same spec variants). The missing goodies - ABS, Airbag are in variants costing at least 1 lac more on the road.

For Value for Money, K10 is well ahead of competing offerings. VFM was the reason Alto800 outsold every car including the M800.
