love this car. would chose this car over a spark, over a santro, over any other entry level car.

this is a simple car, knows what it is supposed to do, and does it very well

i think i know my next buy.

@theMag: good review, but more details would have helped.

I read many comments about alto 800 vs alto k10. when I bought my alto 6 years back its ex show room price in bangalore was 2.98 lakhs which is comparable to the alto k10's lxi model's price of 3.03 lakhs. Now with almost the same money, I get better engine, no noise or sluggishness due to a/c and fuel efficiency supposedly on par with the old engine. I would certainly go for alto k10 Lxi if I were to buy alto again (of course now I dont need a small car).

Saw one on the road few days back, looks great. I think if the redesign is done in India, this is the best job MS has ever done.

Is it possible to fit rear seat head rests to alto? anyone's tried it here?
I would guess highway travels in alto's rear seat to be pretty uncomfortable to ppl of avg height.

Kind of OT, this weekend all most all auto shows had a td report on their show and surprisingly all of them did the td on "nandi hills" and car was bearing HR reg.... any ideas?

A very detailed and comprehensive review Mahesh. Thanks for sharing.

IMO, this car will be lapped up by the junta.A fantastic engine at not too high a premium (subjective) over the Alto 800. Also, I do not think it will eat into the sales of the 800 cc version and rather carve a niche for itself in the market. August sales analysis should be an interesting one for sure.

Checked this with some places but not possible.

asdon, to be frank with you it is not worth upgrading from Alto F8 to K10. It would make more sense if you upgrade to Ritz, SWIFT, Beat or any other hatch but not to another Alto for the sake of K10.

Alto K10 would be a perfect Maruti 800 upgrade

I checked with Ambal Auto Coimbatore and they said 3.54 for K10 LXi and 3.68 for K10 VXi

had the test drive myself today. in the absolute rush hour trafic in bangalore. too much of a booming sound from the engine post 2500 rpm, and no real punch before 2500 rpm. what do you all get from that now.
