(I dont think this would cannibalise sales of the tall-boys because those are bought for a different purpose - easy ingress/egress, practicality etc. But let's see how it goes.[/quote]
I totally agree that the Tall Boys have their niche market-I for one (6'3") will always prefer one.
sad but the AltoK10 looks juicy to TD-cannot fit in-knees totally folded.
TheMag-thanks for a great pictoral review-loved the pics!!

ok this may sound like a silly question but does the new alto also have a PCD 0f 100 or have they changed it. i'm planning to trade in my 2007 alto lxi for the new k 10 and would like to keep as many bits as i can from the old monster.

Another query would be if they are sending it with 13" rims from the factory would it be possible to upgrade to 14" rims.

cant wait to go for a test drive. replace the old lil monster with a new lil monster. i think this platform would have great tunning potential

This could easily have been renamed the zen. It show so much of the old zen DNA. It will sell for sure but a zen tag would have given it a more justified billing. Maruti is busy with face lifts. When do we get to see a completely new vehicle?

sale cutter 4 alto 800....

the new comer alto k10 will surely prove to be sale cutter for existing alto 800.
espicially for the alto 800 lxi buyers, becoz the buyer of this catagory always want more from a small car.

I liked the overall shape / facelift given to the current Alto. Most of it looks in proportion. However, if this car would have been from TATA stable, it would have immediately got criticized for lack of finnesse / fit & finish, which, no one on this forum has pointed out. Case in point - white circle in the pic.

When can we expect the Alto-K10 based on the new 2010 WagonR platfrom ? Some time next year ? May be based on the sales of AK10 they will decide...

What about a WagonR-K12 ? Will be really interesting...

Visited ABT Maruti during lunchtime and saw the Alto K10 (same color as posted by theMAG). It was a VXi model and the Sales rep present could not tell me the exact on road price. He said it will be approx 3.65 lacs and that the TD car should reach them this evening.

He also said they are receiving 32 cars in the first lot and the 32 people who book now will get it immediately.

Also leaned that the Alto LXi (800 cc) as well as the Alto LXi (K10) will be available simultaneously .
@misquitas
I feel this model is here to stay and won't disappear in a hurry. I think it will be better to wait sometime till the dust settles and then make a decision. By then some discounts may be in place, and issues if any will become known. I think the dent will be at least 1.20 lac if I decide to swap now. I am told the best price for my Alto will be about 2.50 lacs, so I am not sure about the swap. I have decided to sleep on it for a while.

Disapointment starts

Vxi on road price in Bangalore - 3,92,000/- don't know how its increased in 24 hrs

If I do an remap and CAI, it will not cost me more than 40K, really in thniking if I should trade my 2007 Alto for this one. My car gives me regular 20+ FE, I have fitted internally adjusted orvs on both side, parking sensors, fog lamps and 12v socket, so the extra I may get is the power, but for that a wopping 60K increase in not justified, my car's on road price was 3,32,000/-

What's next for Maruti? M800 resurrection with K10 heart? This way, M800 is back in all bs4 towns!

More interesting prospect will be an A-Star variant with the K12!

No. That may kill the Alto. But M800 with the Alto's 800 cc BS IV engine might be a possibility.

yea, i too noticed it. But the Fit and Finish on my 2004 alto is very good. the glove box is in plush with the dash. there is no gap.

i think its a misaligned glove box. But believe me in alto the plastic is very good with no burr or finish problems.

How does ex-showroom of:
Alto-K10 LXi Delhi 3.03 lakh
Alto-K10 VXi Delhi 3.16 lakh

translate to Rs 3.92 lakh on-road in Bangalore? I don't see the prices up on the website yet.

Those are ex-showroom prices for non-metallic (read White colour only) AK10s.

Prices of metallic ones are yet to be known.
