@Asdon- The turbo is in 100% action at 1750rpm if I'm correct.
For Linea MJD, it is 2000rpm
For Linea T-JET, it is 2500rpm.

There is noticeable turbo lag below 1500rpm in Punto 75hp. But as the minimum rpm for any gear is 1300rpm, I guess you should stay above 1500rpm in most of the situations except B2B traffic.

I've a sincere request to all of you that do not go beyond 2500rpm during the initial 1000-1500km (It is impossible to follow it). Otherwise, it is your cars and your decision on how to drive them.

Patience pays my friend
I understand the predicament you are in, I completed 1st service soon and then revved beyond 2k.

Congrats on the car. Drive Safe

How to Use the Trip Computer

Guys i have a doubt. I resetted my trip computer. after arround 100km my trip read something like this

Average Consumption: 8.5 1/100 i dont know what this is??
Instant consumptions: some 1.xx something ( not sure exactly)

but when i manually check the mileage for 10 liters it has crossed ~150 km Approx which sounds resonable before 1st service.

Can you guys please throw some light on this? regarding the how to get the actual value from the trip Computer?

It seems your MID is showing Avg and Instantaneous consumption in litres/100 km and not in km/l.

You need to access the Menu, then use the +/- buttons to go to "Units" where you can change the setting to show the consumption in km/l.

@magnan- Refer to the pic below. Press Menu, then press + or - till you reach "Units". Then again press "Menu". You will find 3 sub-menus under units- "Distance", consumption and "temperature".

Select "Km" in distance sub-menu by pressing Menu button, then go to consumption sub-menu and select "km/l" instead of "lit/100Km".

Finally go to Temperature and select "C" if you want temperature in Celsius.

I hope this helps. For more info, see user manual (page 25)

Guys, I have some doubts(Issues). My car is having a hissing sound between the back wheels, not sure from where. i get this when i start the engine or drive for a while. i just opened the rear door and sat literlly to notice the sound, i was hearing something like a air leak. if i switch off the engine the sound goes off. Not sure what it is. Does this happens to Other Punto Diesel Owners? or is this something related to the Diesel Engine. I am very new to drive the Diesel engines, for the past 5 years i had been driving the Petrol Head only. :(

Well, I also took delivery of my 90 BHP MJD Punto recently, I have read somewhere here that one needs to keep RPM under 3000, below 2000 is not possible. Can someone confirm?

I am keeping it arround 2000 to 2700 for the time. Odo is 2642Km, waiting for 3K mark for 1st service, will look for 2 things, engine smoothness and milage(which is a great surprise to me considering Bangalore traffic and weight of Punto), I am getting 18 to 21 with/without AC in city, and on highway 22 to 24 with/without AC.
