Re: Thailand 101: Advice, Tips, Planning etc.

Hello, am planning a summer trip. I want to go to Thailand, but am worried about the temperature and humidity. Let me know in case anyone has been there in the last week of May or June first week. thanks.

I won't advice that time period for Thailand.
Few years back we went to phuket at end of February and it was quite hot at that time, so I can imagine how it will be in month of May. Do carry lots of sunscreen. We all got sunburned even after applying it as Sun rays feel much sharper in Thailand.

I went to Thailand last February, only highlight of the trip was getting back in the hotel room after walking around in the scorching heat. Avoid Thailand in summers!

We went to Phuket & Krabi in mid-May 2yrs back. Luckily it was slightly overcast on most days. Only felt the heat on 1-2 days.

Re: Thailand 101: Advice, Tips, Planning etc.

I was in Bangkok and Phuket in early June a few years ago. The weather was really hot and humid - close to 40 degrees everyday. We spent a lot of time at hotel pools trying to cool off. Even early mornings and evenings it was very muggy. You'll need light, breathable clothes and lots of water. Bangkok may be a bit cooler than Phuket/Southern islands. If you can, maybe consider a trip in March/April when the weather is warmer but not peak summer hot. Otherwise be prepared to sweat it out!

I was in Phuket in January this year, and it was just about pleasant enough for sandos and shorts. Would be horrific right now.

Traveling to Phuket later this month and I understand that it is free VOA in Thailand for Indians. In the supporting documents, wondering if I need to carry photo? If so, then what's the specifications (I have left over from last year's Singapore trip, wondering if it can work?)

Although their VOA form specifies 4x6cm, any passport size photo would suffice.

Anyone been to Waterpark in Phuket called Andamanda water park? Wanted to check about transport options. Trying to figure out how easy it is to get a cab in case I don't want to go for fixed time pickup drop transportation offered on Klook?

Just one is enough. Also, if you’re travelling in a group, I’d suggest to fill up the form in advance that will save you some crucial time at the airport. Kindly see the below post for more details:

Appreciate your help. I looked at the form. Is this the latest one or where can I get latest one? Is there a site I can refer to?

When I went to Thailand again in Sept 2023, I used the same form that’s attached in my previous post.

Not sure if anything has changed now. Try checking few Thai embassy or official websites. They should show somewhere the current format that’s in use.

Re: Thailand 101: Advice, Tips, Planning etc.

Looking for suggestions for best way to book tickets for "Fantasea" in Phuket. I don't see it on Klook and not sure of other sites showing up in search. Also, what is reliable and quick transport options to and from Patong beach? Does Grab taxi work?

Off topic - - do we need an adapter for electrical socket in Thailand ?
