@ achopraa - AA is one of the best "low cost" airlines I have travelled. They are always on time, the airport services are good too. And if you plan in advance, like Ashish did; its cheaper than a bus ticket (Mal-Thai or Mal-Sing) sector. No, I am not joking. So all the best for booking and travel.

@ Ashish - suddenly I am realising what Eistein said a century ago. Time is relative. I feel my watch is running really slow for last 2 hours. Thanks to you.

toward kul

24/2/2010

All woke up early in the morning.
Quick bath and all were ready to go.
Went to the railway station in search of taxi but no taxi at that time.
Managed to get seven rick for rs 100 each and reached to airport.

6:45 am

We all gathered at the gate of international departure terminal.
Trivendrum have new terminal no 3 for international travel, though it is completed,
it is not operational yet due to silly reason of approach flyover not completed yet.
I hope, terminal 3 of Trivendrum airport will be one of the most beautiful airport terminal in India.

Had coffee and tea at nearby stall.

As earlier quoted, most of the people from our group were boarding the plane first time.
I have to assist the newbies for travel procedures.
Baggage screening done, no issue.
Check in done, no issue.
Now, we moved toward immigration.
No rush at immigration counters as there was just one more departure to Mascut at that time.
That was tense moment for two guys from our group.
They have passport with ECR stamp.
A simple ECR stamp on your passport can make your travel miserable.
[ remember yetibaba with ECR stamp on his passoprt in his sepang story].
Though rules are changed since oct 2008, ECR and ECNR rules are still enforced with relaxation to traveler with tourist visa and return ticket.
I sent the two ECR guys ahead for immigration.
Immigration done and there was much relief for them.
By the time, everyone passed through immigration.
I had immigration stamp on 7th page of my blank passport.
Security check done and we were now in hold area.

Looked at airfield.

Air Asia's flight from kul landed.
Soon, passengers called for boarding.

It was Airbus A320 with capacity of 186 pax.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-13.jpg

I was little worried about seat pitch.
I had earlier pre booked seat nos, baggage, on board meals and skybus to kl sentral from lcct kial.

Pilot and co were standing near aero bridge looking toward cockpit through the bridge glass.
Entered the aero bridge.

Flight attendant was standing near the door with smile.

''welcome sir, namaste.''

I was shocked.
i had not expected namastey from Malaysian low cost carrier Air Asia's flight attendant.
For the moment, i stopped there, looked at the name plate of the FA, he was definitely Malaysian with Chinese origin.
A guy from other country try to welcome me with my language...
.... and here i am going to pronounce teri ma ka......[ therima kasih= malaysian word for thanks] with joking intention.
No no, this is not my cup of tea.
I thanked him and never pronounced teri ma.... in the entire trip.

our seat nos were continuous from 6A to 8C.
To my surprise, seat pitch was good enough and 6 feet tall like me was comfortable.

At exactly 8:30 am, push back started.
With prior permission from FA, i started to click the pics without using flash.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-14.jpg

It was long taxi and flight took off.
i could see the sea and beach on my side.
a sharp u turn and we were in the direction toward south east asia.

the sky was cloudy.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-15.jpg

within 5 min, we were crossing kanyakumari, i could clearly see the wind mills near kanyakumari.

soon ,we entered in Shrilankan sky.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-16.jpg

Now, we were flying over blue water of bay of Bengal.

Soon, meals started to arrive.
We were the first to get the food.
Air hostesses were smart and dressed in red attire.
FA were friendly and efficient at their work.
They made everyone happy with their service with smile.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-18.jpg

Frankly speaking, we did not enjoyed chicken satay though fried rice was good.

After some time, we entered and left Indonesian sky.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-17.jpg

Within min, we were in Malaysian sky.

First glimpse of Malaysia, a port.

Kualalumpur international airport.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-20.jpg

I think, this is coal based power plant, work in progress.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-21.jpg

Sharp u turn and we headed toward KLIA.
Coastal town.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-22.jpg

Palm trees everywhere,
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-23.jpg

Soon, it was smooth landing at KLIA.
satellite terminal of KLIA.

After long taxi, we were parked at low cost carrier terminal of kLIA, i.e. LCCT.

Ashish, was waiting for this travelogue to unfold. Glad to know that you had a great trip. I saw the Air Asia fares this morning in TOI and was for a second myself tempted to just book a couple of tickets to KL/Singapore.

So what was the price that you got for from Kerala to KL and back?

Hooked to this thread till it finishes. Dont keep us waiting for too long

P.S: Along with 15 Raja Babu's were there 15 Karisma Kapoor as well?

today since morning i was in a long contract discussion meeting.

Thanks for confirming Advaitele.
I booked my tickets around a month back and I was the one who let the Cat out.

@Ashish - Where are the pics of Airhostess?
Were the seats reclining or the other slip-me-ahead kind?
The one scheduled between Delhi-KL is an A340.

BTW - Yesterday Night at 2AM I saw many Delhi-KUL Premier Economy tickets at 0Rs. (around 2K return including taxes) for Nov-Dec-Jan-Feb.
The Economy ticks were priced at Rs4010 (One way excl-taxes)
Went all the way till billing and the price didn't change.
They are all gone now. Seems they were uploading the new fares and I caught them midway.

LCCT is the terminal made for low cost carrier.
There are no aero bridge, no escalators.

Collected or hand bags and left the plane.
FA smiled with good byes and dhanyawad.

You have to walk from plane to arrival hall.
Though the walkway is covered, it was miserably hot.

Immigration done.
After immigration, one guy from our group came back instead of going to other side of the immigration desk.
A quick yell from officer and me, he ran to other side with confused face.

Collected our baggage and after customs, we were now officially in Malaysia.
Collected money from ATM using Axis bank currency card.

Had food at Mcdonald.

The weather was too humid.

Me at outside the terminal
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-26.jpg

Found our red coloured bus operated by Skybus BHD[ owner is indian origin].
As we had earlier online booked this bus, we had just showed our tickets and we were handed over bus pass. The cost is just 6.5 ringiitt.
Bus is really comfortable compared to volvo in india.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-27.jpg

Air Asia's sister concern tune hotel at lcct.

Toward kl

Btw, this is travelogue on team-bhp, so mandatory pic of car, the proton,

Mosque on the way
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-33.jpg

Highway intersection, the bridge
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-34.jpg

haha, bombay point near kl sentral.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-35.jpg

Reached to kl sentral, lower level.
I was amazed to see this multilevel railway station.

Me and my friend went inside in search of prepaid taxi booth and found at upper level.
Booked five taxi for 13 ringit each.
It seems that almost all taxies in Malaysia are proton cars, version of Malaysian Maruti.

Within 15 min, we were at hotel at Jalan Bukit Bintang, in front of BB plaza.

We had on line booking of hotel Bintang Warisan.
We reserved five triple bed superior room for five days.
The hotel exceeded our expectations.
I recommend this hotel to everyone.
Beware of phishing site of this hotel.

Next post, some time tomorrow.

No way, you got it wrongly, we went there to see the country and progress, not ms khaan, if that was our intention, we may headed toward Bankok and Pattaya.

No pics of air hostess, they are professionals in the plane to make you comfortable, i respect them and their service.

Delhi-kul is operated by Air Asia X.
So, the fare will be more compared to air asia as the plane are A330 and A340.
Air asia x is currently refitting the seats in the existing fleet and more comfortable seats will be available by the time you will fly.
