24/2/2010
All woke up early in the morning.
Quick bath and all were ready to go.
Went to the railway station in search of taxi but no taxi at that time.
Managed to get seven rick for rs 100 each and reached to airport.
6:45 am
We all gathered at the gate of international departure terminal.
Trivendrum have new terminal no 3 for international travel, though it is completed,
it is not operational yet due to silly reason of approach flyover not completed yet.
I hope, terminal 3 of Trivendrum airport will be one of the most beautiful airport terminal in India.
Had coffee and tea at nearby stall.
As earlier quoted, most of the people from our group were boarding the plane first time.
I have to assist the newbies for travel procedures.
Baggage screening done, no issue.
Check in done, no issue.
Now, we moved toward immigration.
No rush at immigration counters as there was just one more departure to Mascut at that time.
That was tense moment for two guys from our group.
They have passport with ECR stamp.
A simple ECR stamp on your passport can make your travel miserable.
[ remember yetibaba with ECR stamp on his passoprt in his sepang story].
Though rules are changed since oct 2008, ECR and ECNR rules are still enforced with relaxation to traveler with tourist visa and return ticket.
I sent the two ECR guys ahead for immigration.
Immigration done and there was much relief for them.
By the time, everyone passed through immigration.
I had immigration stamp on 7th page of my blank passport.
Security check done and we were now in hold area.
Looked at airfield.
Air Asia's flight from kul landed.
Soon, passengers called for boarding.
It was Airbus A320 with capacity of 186 pax.
I was little worried about seat pitch.
I had earlier pre booked seat nos, baggage, on board meals and skybus to kl sentral from lcct kial.
Pilot and co were standing near aero bridge looking toward cockpit through the bridge glass.
Entered the aero bridge.
Flight attendant was standing near the door with smile.
''welcome sir, namaste.''
I was shocked.
i had not expected namastey from Malaysian low cost carrier Air Asia's flight attendant.
For the moment, i stopped there, looked at the name plate of the FA, he was definitely Malaysian with Chinese origin.
A guy from other country try to welcome me with my language...
.... and here i am going to pronounce teri ma ka......[ therima kasih= malaysian word for thanks] with joking intention.
No no, this is not my cup of tea.
I thanked him and never pronounced teri ma.... in the entire trip.
our seat nos were continuous from 6A to 8C.
To my surprise, seat pitch was good enough and 6 feet tall like me was comfortable.
At exactly 8:30 am, push back started.
With prior permission from FA, i started to click the pics without using flash.
It was long taxi and flight took off.
i could see the sea and beach on my side.
a sharp u turn and we were in the direction toward south east asia.
the sky was cloudy.
within 5 min, we were crossing kanyakumari, i could clearly see the wind mills near kanyakumari.
soon ,we entered in Shrilankan sky.
Now, we were flying over blue water of bay of Bengal.
Soon, meals started to arrive.
We were the first to get the food.
Air hostesses were smart and dressed in red attire.
FA were friendly and efficient at their work.
They made everyone happy with their service with smile.
Frankly speaking, we did not enjoyed chicken satay though fried rice was good.
After some time, we entered and left Indonesian sky.
Within min, we were in Malaysian sky.
First glimpse of Malaysia, a port.
Kualalumpur international airport.
I think, this is coal based power plant, work in progress.
Sharp u turn and we headed toward KLIA.
Coastal town.
Palm trees everywhere,
Soon, it was smooth landing at KLIA.
satellite terminal of KLIA.
After long taxi, we were parked at low cost carrier terminal of kLIA, i.e. LCCT.
Next post, within hour.
