Thanks for your comments.
While leaving the country, i warned my boys that there will be strict check at customs for tobacco products. If anyone caught, he has to pay heavy fine plus immediate return to India. Boys got the message.
The place is so clean that no one felt to litter and my policing was there.

Good. Please ask your boys to think India is also like singapore.
We spread awareness amongst our close friends and relatives, we can make the change.

After spending half an hour at king's palace, we went to kl bird park.
Everyone was hungry, had some snacks and juice at the stall at the entrance of bird park.
After purchasing rm 42 ticket, we entered the park.
According to the info, kl bird park is the largest netted bird park in the world.
There are 3000 birds of 200 species.
The bird park is situated along the nallah over 21 acres of terrain.

I wonder, how cleverly local government there has converted this waste land into tourist attraction.

We saw many birds with different colours and sizes.

There are many peacocks.
After enquiry, we came to know that all peacocks are brought from India.
So, we paid rm42 in kl to see Indian peacocks and in fact,
there are thousands of peacocks at the village named Morachi Chincholi @ 100 km away from my place and i never went there to see the peacocks.
That is the tragedy of Indian tourist.

After spending 90 min at the place, we moved to Dataran Merdeka.
We saw the national mosque along the way.
It was brief stop of 20 min at Merdeka square, the historical place of Malaysia.
Sultan Abdul Samad building was going under some renovation work.

We saw the giant flag post.
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-144.jpg

It was already 5 pm.
We moved toward sentral market.
We saw Jamek Masjid, the beautiful mosque along the way at the bank of river Klang.
At the sentral market, taxis left us.

Sentral market is good place to buy some sovenir items.
Everyone bought twin tower replicas, key chains and other junks.

Petaling street is nearby walking distance of just 2 min.

15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-145.jpg
15 RAJABABUes in Malaysia and Singapore-146.jpg

Almost everyone bought cheapo Rado, Rolex, Omega etc.
Bargaining is the key word here.
Prices quoted may be 100rm but you can start with 10rm and finish the deal with 15rm.

After purchasing so many junks, we returned to the hotel at 9pm.
Everyone was tired,
So no clubbing today,
it was massage evening,
got foot massage at 25rm for 30 min and it is worth the penny.
We took much needed rest to get freshened up for Genting highland.

GOod to see that you've got the rado, rolex and omegas after heavy bargaining. My breitling is doing good after 5 years!

And this Morachi chincholi is a great find. Do we find peacocks all round the year? I'm thinking of a trip next weekend!

Story continues--

27 Feb 2010,

Everyone was ready at the reception of the hotel after quick breakfast.
We took the taxis for Puduraya bus terminal to take bus and rope way ride for Genting.
Reached to Genting counter at Puduraya terminal.

"oh no," again , there was waiting time of three hours for next bus.

Decided to take taxi for Genting.

Taxi cost was just rm15 each.

There was brief stop at petrol pump.
The petrol is really cheap, just rs 24.5 per liter.

Again , we saw batu caves complex from the cars while leading toward genting.

Malaysia is better off than india only because it's got oil. Lot's of it.
Many parts of KL where we don't generally go will look like slums.
Rajababus have gone to those scenic spots and tourism centers. They are newly developed and maintained well.
I wonder when India can match up to European standards! (west europe).
Yep,

Had been to KL on a transit from Sydney to Mumbai. Coming from Sydney, KL looks OK in terms of cleanliness and looked really flat and tasteless since Sydney is an extremely vibrant city.

Having said that, let us not compare. Whenever I am abroad, I miss the nativeness in the food, the craze for cricket, the happy-go-lucky attitude of people, Motorists with devil-may-care attitude.

When I am in India, I get pissed off by basic sanity issues like people spitting pan, relieving themselves on roads and railway tracks, the beurocracy etc.

As per an independent survey in 2007, Sydney was voted as the top most tourist destination and guess what, India (with all it's pain points, lack of cleanliness and infrastructure issues) was voted the most visited tourist nation !!

Yes, we are not as clean as some of the other countries - But then, so what?

So the giant coca-cola bottle has vanished from genting is it?
By the way the first hotel is touted as the biggest in Asia.

The last time I went to genting, the whole place was covered in fog, and I could not see a thing outside. The outdoor theme park was closed as well
