Hi Lalu

Do you know whether T-BHP allows repeated rating of the thread ?
I tried, but it allows only one rating per member (i already did mine).

Henceforth your travelogues needs to be rated 3x 5 stars.

three photographers, three different compositions, three different point of views, tripple fun

honestly, both your PPGs have talent, you need to guide them. but watch out you have lots of internal competition, you need to buck up with your compositions now.

Thanks star for the rating.
When they become experts, I'll gift them both a nice camera and I'll do what I love most - driving them around

Some information from the web gave me some answers to my bird query.

White Bellied treepie, not Uppan

This guy along the mynah seems to be the Malabar/Black Hornbill.

Day 3, April 4rth 2010 continued...

Nelliyampathy

After breakfast we decide to go again to the mud roads and tea gardens to check out some more birds.

I must admit, this is the first time in my whole life I tried photographing birds. This area of photography really need the skills and equipments. My try is only aimed at capturing what we saw, and I must apologise to all those lovely beautiful birds that I could not retain their beauty in my photographs.

Looking for birds, I found this fellow - Malabar Giant Squirrel

Day 3, April 4rth 2010 continued...

Nelliyampathy

Kesavan Para (Rock)

We continued on to visit Kesavan Para. Its a nice walk through thick vegetation to the big rock. From here you can see the hills around and the Pothundi Dam below. We were there for an hour from 11.30AM -12.30PM. The previous night, I was told this place was crowded to see the fireworks of the Vela.

This fellow was relaxing.
Swifted : Nelliyampathy via Valparai-20100404_1077.jpg

On the way back just drove out a little further to the viewpoint on the road. From here too you can see the Pothundi Dam.

But today being a Sunday, wherever there was a temple on the road a bunch of guys with receipt books jump in front of the car demanding money for their temple festival, and blocks the right of way. It was irritating to the core, just because they block you forcefully. In one place they scratched the Swift end to end to stop! I got out and gave them a piece of advice in proper Malayalam, and said for Rs10 you gave me a job of 10K. I wonder why we have such low attitudes among people.

Surprisingly the next day none of them were on the streets. Only when the touristy vehicles comes up these fellows get together to make a quick buck, and that explains the invasion in almost all places on Sunday!!.

We left towards the resort by 13:00PM from the viewpoint, enjoying the invasion by atleast three groups enroute.

The Wooow continues.... The way I keep telling this woow I may be soon a competition to Dashy in the opera house soon.

Meanwhile I was thinking of asking you to post few pics of the your garden when you described about the rich flora collection. There you read most of BHPians mind and posted it.

Nice house, superb garden and simply adorable Dashy. She will be missing you guys when you had been away.

laluks - too bad the swift had to suffer the neantherdals. One of the things that most worry me about travelling in Kerala - the absolutely rowdy like youngsters, always leering at the women and 'outsiders'. Iam a mallu myself (b&b outside Kerala), and iam ashamed of these idiots.

Regarding the pics - OUTSTANDING. But why does the bokeh in some of them appear as horizontal stripes ? Iam only a beginner in photography, that's why this query. Iam more familiar with nice fuzzy round bokehs.

I agree. Its so stupid. I get annoyed often about it.

The stripes might be due to the cropping and sharpening by the editing tool.

Fantastic house (& dog) you got there Laluks. Now that you have put it online, I think you should buy one of those "Rakshasa" masks & put it prominently outside the house to ward off my evil eye

Lalu, you've got a beautiful house which is decorated with the green wonders with memories associated with each and that too with Guardian angel Dashy.

Your orchard shows how passionate you are into it. Thanks for sharing the snaps.

Nice snaps of the birds especially the hornbills, thanks to power puff girls.

BTW is that a butterfly or a moth? Some experts here, just an incremental knowledge to all of us. Seen many in our Bennarghatta National Park.

it is nice that you have a maid who does the pet care job. For me, since I have a pug at home, whenever we go out of town, he has to go to his pet boarding facility. Last time, when we left him at the boarding, when we were about to return, couldn't resist the sad look in his eyes when he saw us leave. Wanted to take him with us but then such a long journey (to kottayam) and that too to the scorching sun made us decide otherwise.
