KP out of those what would you recommend? Purely for comfort and about just about ok handling.

195 65 14 on stock rims are dicey since the rim is 5J, and ideally they require 5.5J min, better stick with 185 70 14

Both tyres are comfort based with adequate handling. You can't go wrong with any of the two..
Only difference is that with four yoko tyres u will get a yoko backpack free.

But still ppl are running insane 205 upsizes on stock rims.. May be they don't reveal the problems they are facing..

185/70 R14 should be around 3.2-3.3k in Michelin and a little cheaper in Yoko.

Hi Guys,

I am getting my Swift VXI in a couple of days. I would like to upgrade to 195/60 R15 or 205/55 R15.... Yokohoma S-Drives.

Can the Bangalore guys suggest the best place to get this done with exchange of my stock tires?

Hi Tyre Gurus.

I am getting my swift vdi shortly. I will be upsizing to 15".
I had zeroed in on Michelin Energy XM1+ but on checking the Michelin website the profile i am looking for is not available.. 195/60/R15.
This profile is available in Micheline Energy MXV8.

Can someone please help and tell me if i should go for MXV8 or 195/65R15 profile which is available on XM1+.

I still feel 205 is overkill for swifts, its zaps power, mileage and ride quality. 185 or 195 at the max is the ideal, yeah for looks and vacuum cleaner like road holding 205's are fine, otherwise overkill anyday for stock indian swifts.

Hmmm. So you think I should stick around with 195 instead of 205?? Will it reduce too much of power??
Please advise. I thought I made my decision but seems like not yet.

Btw, I was planning to grab 205/55/R15, Yoko Sdrive for the yet undelivered Swift Zxi.

Hi Guys,

I will be getting my Swift VDi shortly and have finalized upsizing to 185/70/R14. I saw my car with the delaer today and it has MRF tyres
I have some queries:
  • I have contacted a local tyrewaala, hes offering me 1200 for each tyre and 200 for the rim. Is this a good price??
  • He has quoted me 2800 for Michelin Energy XM1 (not XM1+), he says he has only XM1, is this a good deal???
  • He himself is recommending Yokos (i think ES100) for 2700 per tyre and there is a reebok strolley bag(worth 2500 ) free with 4 tyres.
  • He has also suggested me in getting 4 alloys instead of 5 because if i put the 5th alloy in the boot , it will get scratched
Should I go for Yokos or Michelin , my priorities are a better ride , good FE and good overall life.

Thanks in advance.

The ES100 tyres are now pretty old in the market. Don't go for the XM1 insist upon the XM1+.

If your putting on alloys go for 195/65-14 instead of 185/70-14.

You can even upgrade to 15" 195/60-15 Michelin MXV8 or the ES100.

The reason I do not want to go for a 195 profile is because it will have effect on the FE.
FE has played a major part in me choosing the VDi over any other car in that segment, since my daily running is around 80-90 kms.
Or is it that 195 profile would not have that much effect on the FE??

The other option i have for tyres is Bridgestones(not sure of the exact model).. how good are they?
