Tyres for Swift VDi

HI guys,

Can anyone help me decide a got set of tyres for swift vdi . The standard tyres i got are JK . I bought this car a week ago and found the pickup of the car sluggish in 3rd gear . I previously owned a swift vdi and found the pickup of that car more than this one Can anyone suggest me what to do. If i use pete,s tuning box will it help me get rid of this problem

Kindly Advice

Hi Gary,

I am using OZ Racing 15" X 6.5 with offset 43 shod with 195/60/R15 Goodyear Eagle F1 GDS2 (Unidirectional 'V' tread). There is absolutely no issues with the rim size, however please stay away from the Goodyear Eagles!! The tryes are not very soft so ride is pretty bumpy. These tyres are also very noisy but provide excellent handling in wet weather. However i am planning to upgrade to 16" X 7 with 205/50/R16 Yokohama S-Drives OR Michelin Pilot Preceda. I would not suggest Goodyear.

34 PSI in front and 31 PSI in the rear would give you good FE and better pickup. If you want a very confortable ride use 32 PSI in the front and 29 in the rear.

Hi Zenopio,

I like your rims. Very BMW type. Any issues with the 7.5J width? Are they touching anywhere at full lock or full load? How is the ride on 50 profile?

I'd go for the LG-190. While I am a die-hard fan of 5 spoke alloys, the LG-203 has too much jewellery on it. The 190 is classy.

Hi guys,

What is the offset value of the stock rims on the Swift Vxi? I have upgraded to 15" X 6.5J with an offset of 43. I am now planning to upgrade to 16" X 7J OR 16" X 7.5J with 205/50/R16 tyres. What should be the offset of the same and how is it calculated?
