I don't think there'd be a permanent solution to it. Given our road conditions if the tyre polish does its job even for one week I think its a decent time. BTW, a tyre polish isn't just for making the tyre shine but also prevents the tyre from cracking etc.

Practically its not possible in Indian conditions.:)

Cleaning it daily and driving on smooth tarmacs only may help.

I have a 2009 Dec Swift Zxi which are running on stock JK 185/70 R14 tyres.

I am going on a long trip to Kerala this weekend (around 750kms), so had given the car for a general checkup at Bimal. I asked the service advisor to do balancing, since I felt some steering vibration at speeds above 80kph.

So they checked the tyres and found that the right side tyres (both front and rear), have a very small dent (opposite of bulge) in the sidewall and hence this is causing the vibration in the steering. This dent is hardly noticeable and can only be found when searching for it with hand. Since the stepney was almost new, they changed the right front tyre to stepney. Now the right rear tyre and stepney has the small dent. They told me that it is perfectly safe to do the long trip on these tyres as they will easily last another 10K kms.

My doubt is "is it safe to drive the long trip with right rear tyre having small dent" or should I go head and change that one tyre ?

I know it’s been really long since my last post on this thread. I apologize. I had some personal commitements. Finally I will be upsizing my rims to 195/60/R15.

Just a little confused on the Tires. Most probably I will be going for Apollo Acelere or the Potenza 3. Will be ready to post pics by end of next week.

have driven a figo with apollo aceler, they where kinda good, there was some tyre noice but Goodyear GT3 is horrible never go for it, noicy as hell, uneven wear, punctures and the lists keeps going, came as oe with innova, getz and vista.
If possible check out Goodyear Assurance as you are on budget this will be good, its definitely cheaper than most tyres, grip level is fair, noice is much lesser, i'm using it in my innova and never had one puncture in about 30k kms, except for one tyre which gave up at 30k thats cause of bad wheel alignment

Ps: i did get minor sidewall damage in one or two tyre but that didnt affect the tyre in anyways. its just top layer damage. also check if its available in your required size

I have Yoko A drives on my Swift Vxi in 185/70 R14. They are absolutely fantastic- the OEM JK Tornado is not a patch on these.

I have OEM Apollo Aceleres on my Vento- still to early to call, but at 5000 km I have (touch wood) not had any problems, grip is good, noise is low and despite my initial misgivings, am pretty happy overall.

Have not used Goodyear but have heard they're not that great. I would recommend the Aceleres.

CEC3 is a good tyre. On par with the Michelin in almost every respect and substantually cheaper as well.

The issue I am having now is the dealer says he does not have any rims with the offset 40+ on 6j+ rims. He said he will try to get the Lenso Maglite series. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

I have a 2006 ZXi, with stock JK tyres - 185/70/R14. Never had a puncture for 5 years till last week, when both left side tyres went flat - first was a stone damage, second rear had a metal piece in it. I got them fixed and last night filled air in my tyres drove home. This morning noticed rear left tyre had split...

So decided to buy a fresh set of tyres. Am considering the same 185/70/R14. Any recommendations? ER60? M701?

Yokohama C drives or A drives (in case c is not available in the desired size) for the best combination of safety, comfort and price.

I would say Michelin, BS Turanza and Yoko A drives are the top contenders. Based on your preference for comfort or price budget you can choose either of them. Yokos are the least priced and VFM tyres.

Go through the last 10 or 15 pages of this thread which will give you enough insight.
