Everything that needs to be said has been said. I bought AD-07 from Nikhil and the price posted is as above with some TBHP discount.

I am happy with the AD-07s but its definitely not for a stock car. You would not like the increase noise and slightly lowered mileage. But all said and done if you push you car to the max these are worth it. Another friend of mine will be picking up a set next week.

Your best bet would be PP1s or BFGs.

Frankly, I dont know man. I just wanted to try AD-07s and the best price was when I am still using 14 inchers.

Why are you downsizing? Because my next change would be moving to 15 inchers. If you found something wrong, i might have to rethink.

Another aspect I'll probably have to keep in mind is ready availability in Kolkata of the tyres I buy - in case I need a replacement. GSD3, PP1, ES100s are not an issue. BFG and AD07 would need special order.

195/60/14 is available only in PP1 not PP2.

ES100s slide very predictably and its controllable and fun. This is only when pushed hard. I have used ES100s for 35K.

Much to the disappointment, I'm sure, of many of you - I got a set of GSD3s today. It was a choice based on various factors, that mattered to me. I'll try to explain.

I had the following options to choose from in the 195/60/14 size.

AD07
BFG G-Gorce Sport
PP1
GSD2
ES100
GSD3

AD07 and BFG - I wanted tyres easily available in Kolkata. When I got my GSD2s 2 yrs back, I had hit a pothole at speed within the first week - resulting in a sidewall cut and a replacement needed to be bought. Both AD07 and BFG had to be ordered and shipped from other cities. No one keeps stock here. So I ruled them out.

PP1 - Too many reports of bulging coupled with apparent uselessness of Michelin warranty. That I didn't like the tread design sealed it's fate.

GSD2 - Having already used it I wanted to try a different tyre. Otherwise no issues with it.

This brought the choice down to the ES100 and the GSD3. Both of similar vintage. Similar tread patterns. Both noisy. Both apparently wear out fast. Both not among the popular choices today. Online reviews do favour the Goodyear significantly.

My experience with the GSD2s tilted the deal. Contrary to all the negative feedback, I have had no issues with the tyre. But for the noise. They really became extremely noisy from around 30K onwards, even at 40-50kmph speeds. Otherwise I really liked them. Maybe I'm incapable of taking tyres to the limit where the deficiencies show up. The GSD2s lasted me 36K kms. I could have used them for another 7-8 surely.

Add to that, BlackPearl, 1100D - both much much harder drivers than me - have used GSD2s without any issues (Baleno & Ikon1.6). Vroooooom has had his Baleno on GSD3s for 16K odd kms without any issues. All are happy with the F1s.

And so the process of elimination left only the GSD3s as the last standing option. I know that these will be noisy too at some point of time, but other than that I'm looking forward to a decent driving experience. Fingers crossed :)

The guys who drive in rain seems to be happy with the F1s. I have a friend in kerala with GSD3 on his VTEC and he swears by it.

It's probably a question of never having driven a better tyre. I thought ES-100s were the best until I drove PPs. Then I drove Neovas. Then A048s.

Are A048s available in India? Whats size did you drive, what car?

Yes, they were. 185/55 R14 and 195/50 R15, driven both. Esteem and Baleno respectively.
