Will a 195/65/R14 fit in baleno without any scrapping issues. i am considering yokohama A drives as replacement to existing 185/65/R14 C drives?
when fully loaded car scrapes many speed breakers, so going for 195/60/R14 reduces ground clearance compared to existing setup.

Update : My michelins (Energy XM1 185/65R14)in the Baleno have completed close to 35k kms and look goof enuf for another 20k. Really happy with the ride and silence of these tyres apart from average grip levels.

Looking to upgrade tyres and rims on a Baleno, probably pick up the PP1s in 195/60/14.
Any suggestions where to get Baleno rims at a good price in Chennai?
I was planning to have it serviced at the same time, would MSM be a good bet to do all of it?
Thanks! :thumbs up

p.s. got a quote of 3.7k/tyre for Michelin XM1+, looking for matching alloys

Hi Chafer, what size are you upgrading from?

I recently upgraded from stock 165/80/R13 to 185/60/R14. Got Acelere Wheelz alloys (pic below) with Acelere tyres, after inputs from members over here. Got an awesome deal from my good friend's shop in Bangalore.

The grip levels going from stock hard compound to Acelere is just unbelievable. So far in the last 2 months since I got these I've done two trips to Chennai (from Mysore), one trip from B'lore to Kundapur and countless trips between Mysore and B'lore. about 8,000km in the last 2 months alone! Can't get any more value-for-money than this combo, as you generally get discount if you buy Acelere alloys and tyres combo.

I was also considering 195-size, but then settled for 185 and guess it would have been sort of an over-kill, upgrading from stock size.

How much did the alloys cost you each? and the total cost of upgrade?

Is this from Nikhils place? That size is the wrong size for the baleno. 195's would hvae been wonderful, well there are always ways to bump up the power, but u cant upgrade tyres often.

Don't remember the exact figures, but i think it was a li'l less than 40k for a set of 5 alloys & tyres, new set of wheel nuts, wheel alignment & balancing and Nitrogen filling.

Yep, got it from Nikhil's place! About the tyre size, oops, my bad. They are 185/65/R14. Had a tough time deciding between 185 and 195. Most of the miles come on the Mysore-B'lore highway as I keep traveling every weekend. Given that and the fact that i was upgrading to better set from stock skinny tyres, I settled for 185. Perhaps the next upgrade (2-2.5 years from now i guess) would be 195 :D

Woah!! 8000 kms in 2 months? You will need to upgrade to CPC2s in 195/60R14 in about one year man! :D

Yay!!

i assume its about 4.5k per alloy then

Apollo alloys should cost ~18000 Rs for a set of five with warrenty.

Sorry been AWOL for a while! Yes, also on stock 165/80/R13 at the moment.

Thanks for the info, will look into that combo.

Guys,

I am downgrading (I think I am the only person doing so) from 205/45R/15 to 195/55R/15. Is it a proper downsize ? Please let me know.

Cheers

Go for it, 195/55/R15 is the correct size. BTW what on sweet earth prompted you to go to 45 profiles with the 15 inchers ?
