Is your spare tyre a full size spare? Same size and rim as the other 4 tyres? Or is it a steel rim with the other wheels being alloys?

Also the size is 235/70R16?

If it is a 7 year old tyre and unused/rarely used, I'd suggest you keep it for a couple of more years and then get it replaced. To be safe, get it inspected at a shop for weathering cracks/other issues. Just make sure that you check the pressure once in a couple of months so that it is properly inflated when you require it - though I understand this could be difficult because the spare is under the vehicle in the case of the Safari Storme (or is it mounted on the door?). But honestly I can't emphasize enough how important it is that you take time off for this activity, because I remember one of my friend's Baleno's Spare tyre being at 10 PSI when he required it, rendering it unusable. One hack is that you inflate the spare to a very high pressure - ~45 PSI - so that your checking frequency is reduced. You can always deflate it to an appropriate value when you actually need to use it. After you get a new spare you can include it in a 5 tyre rotation cycle, refer the image below for instructions.

Assuming the usage is going to be on-road mostly it would be better to go with HT. I changed from stock Bridgestone H/T to MRF Wanderers AT in the same size and am not very happy as i feel the tyre noise and ride comfort has deteriorated. However, not sure if this is because of MRF and the experience would be better with a different manufacturer.

Re: Tata Safari : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello Guys,

If there is anyone having stock 16" alloys of Safari Dicor and wants to sell, I am looking for the complete set.

I want to downgrade my Hexa 19" to 16" and I like the alloy design of Dicor.

Please DM if any leads.

Thanks
HT

The PCD is different. Smaller on your Safari, bigger on our Safari's. So no can do. You could at best try for new 17" alloys

Are you sure ? Which version of Safari do you have ? The Dicor /Storme was only 16". Never 19" tyres.

Only versions of Hexa /Harrier / new Safari started with 17" and upwards.

But I agree with you on one point - I prefer 16" tyres, not even 17".

Re: Tata Safari : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello Friends,
Can someone kindly point out , what would be the best tyres to upgrade in the new safari top end Accomplished Plus in 245/55/R19 size. Cannot find any tyres of this size online. It comes with MRF Wanderer tyres as stock.

Thanks
