Re: Direct vs Indirect TPMS | Which one does your car have?

SensAiry I was about to install until I saw their app on playstore didn't have any development (seems it was updated 1 month ago) - thats a great development.

Treel I was said I need to order display on my own risk from their website. Sensors alone were available with city based sellers or dealers.

Enquired in few shops in HSR and none had tpms and few didn't know what it is at all.

Came across Quaden TPMS based out Bengaluru. Does anyone has any experience with this brand.

Nex Digitron has bigger screen rather the usual small ones. Will be going for it just because of bigger display.

Manatec web site doesn't have tpms listed.

Skyshop seems to have ability to display all 5 sensors with some configuration. That's a nice tweak.

after tyre rotation do we need to reset tpms or it automatically learns new tyre positions?

Usually you have to rotate them along with the tyres. Some systems have the option to relabel/reassign the sensors.

I've ordered it hoping it will seamlessly integrate with my android Headunit so that I don't have to rely on my phone app or an extra hardware.
How is this one performing ? Please share your experience or feedback.

Hi, I'll list the pros & cons below.

Pros:
It works seemless with the android Headunit since it is designed for it exclusively.
Unlike other android apps, you don't have to click open it to view the tyre pressure every time. It pops-up once the HU is ON and pops up everytime there is a change in tyre pressure sensed. The app stays for about 5 to 10 seconds and goes to the background.
After tyre rotation, you can swap the tyres/sensors in the app accordingly to display the correct position.

Cons:
I'm not sure about the accuracy. I've never seen it show 35psi! Everytime I fill 35psi, it always shows 34.8 (I always fill air at home using portable tyre inflator- Michelin one)
The app pop-up can be a nuisance at times especially if any video is running on the HU. After every app pop-up, you will have to open the video app from the recent apps since after the tpms app goes to the background, it resumes the homescreen.
Won't work with OEM Headunits. Will work with android phones but you don't want a usb dongle fitted to the smartphone during your entire trip.
I've been using ZUS STSM (Smart Tyre Safety Monitor) external tpms for nearly 5 years and I like the accuracy of it over the Blaupunkt.

Overall if you have an android HU and wish to keep things simple with integrated tpms, no hassle of removing the sensors during air refill, tpms readout without a touch, you can give this a go. Accuracy and lack of option to maintain a history of air pressure & temperature in the app remains a bummer after using the zus tpms.
