Re: Bridgestone Turanza - Very trust worthy!

Can we fit Bridgestone Turanza replacing the factory fitted Goodyear tyres with tube ? Or it can only be fitted on Alloy wheels ?

I am looking to replace tyres on my Tata indica xeta (165/65/13).

Please suggest

Re: Bridgestone Turanza - Very trust worthy!

Alloy wheels are not mandatory, you can put tubeless tires on steel rims, provided the rim condition is good ( rust free and no damage).

I'm running 185/70 - R13 Turanza's on steel rims. I have had no issues. Its quite possible, unless the rim has some serious dent.

Re: Bridgestone Turanza - Very trust worthy!

Kindly mention the suggested cost of Turanza ER 60 @ 195/60/15 if somebody has an idea regarding the same. The price being quoted is Rs. 4750 for each tire. Is the price quoted high or okay?

The price seems to be very reasonable compare to my experience in Bangalore.
I had paid Rs 5000 per tyre for Bridgestone Turanza ER60 195x60R14 here in Bangalore. Tyre make was 4th week of January 2011
And for my stock Bridgestone Turanza ER300 185x60R14, they were quoting Rs 4200 per tyre.
Please verify the manufacturing date.

Last weekend I got a set of 4 Turanza ER 60 195/60 R15s at 4,250 each for my Ford Fusion. Not yet driven much on them, but can notice an immediate difference in road noise over the older stock Goodyears.

Re: Bridgestone Turanza - Very trust worthy!

I just bought Bridgestone Potenza for Jetta (205/55/R16) for Rs. 7500/- a piece. Going by the prices mentioned here, I might have paid over the top or it is to do with the specific tyre sizes that demand a premium ?

Re: Bridgestone Turanza - Very trust worthy!

Just reread my post above (#99) and realised I'd made a typo error - I had actually got BS Turanza AR10s fitted, not ER60s as mentioned.

Now almost 2 months later, I can report that I am very satisfied with them, both in terms of road noise as well as grip.

AR10s manufactured in India are tubed tyres. the ones you have got fitted must be an imported set or did you get a tubed tyre fitted.

Re: Bridgestone Turanza - Very trust worthy!

Switched over to Turanza ER60 for Magnum. Absolutely satisfied with the switch from stock goodyears. Grip has improved which helps the handling I guess and they seem to be pretty comfortable as well.

Re: Bridgestone Turanza - Very trust worthy!

Switched to Turanza ER300 from stock Goodyears a few weeks ago. I was charged 4575/- per tyre. I must admit these were not my initial choice, I only went in for these as the Michelin XM1s did not fit the alloys very well.

No issues with grip/ handling whatsoever. Tyre noise is reduced, but that doesn't say a lot as the Goodyears were quite awful.
I haven't had an opportunity for a long drive since the change, but I cannot see any difference in wet/ dry conditions which is a huge improvement for me
